Ever have your new gun molested at a

gun dealer while waiting the 10 days ? I have over the last 8 years its now happened 4 times this is the latest. Bought new from GoG's and sent to a new dealer I never been to. Checked it out the day it arrived and all was perfect did the paperwork went home waited.....Went and picked it up didn't look it over "real" good brought it home put it in the safe. Bout 3 weeks later I got some moon clips for it and took it out to check on them and while using a felt pen to blackin the site I then noticed the damage...ugh ! Not something anyone could miss on inspection.

Its my second SS gun in along time. I was able to cleanup the gouges and buff out the scratches and get the sight installed correctly. I guess somebody didn't like the slight left cant of this one but I think I'll be ok with it, gun will be used as wilderness security its a Redhawk 45cal. No argument at the GS just told em when asked what I wanted from them that I wouldn't be back.
If I mentioned who it was I'd just be told "why'd ya go there ?"

Why would you send it to some store you never do business with ?

I buy on gunbroker. And send my rifles to only one store.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

It seems odd that the dealer would try to remove or mess with the front sight during the 10 day wait on a customer’s gun. I can’t see any other way to cause that sort of scratching.
More then likely was already there and he didn't even realize the first time inspecting it. Often you think you inspect it good, but dont since you are excited to fondle it, and then have to do the paper work and pit it away. He didn't notice it when picking up either, or until 3 more weeks after that. Cant really blame a gun store if you didn't notice it for so long.

you missed the issue on initial inspection. Doubt they shot/ messed/ adjusted your front sight on your common firearm...

Well Sarco, if you read the OP I was asking if anyone else has had this happen to them. I've had my share.

I have in the past have taken pictures and made notes if any inperfections are on the firearm. Also If you can have an employee sign the notes >(some don't like to do it ).. If that happens ,ask for the manager.. I also try not to leave any Mags with the Firearm. We all know there have been times when the firearm has been used while on hold. Also tell them once the paperwork is done, you will put the cable lock on (that they will most likely make you buy)...
