The biggest problem you're going to have is to convince them to stop voting D even if those who aren't blatantly anti-gun. They will refuse to understand that giving the D's majority will also give them all of the committee positions which are the real base of political power and will be controlled by the most left wing and extremist elements of CA's progressive political base. I know plenty of liberal gun owners who didn't vote for Newsom but pretty much voted democrat on every other office and voted opposite what I chose on all ballot propositions.

wouldn't that also be like equating the way you vote to a single issue? i know many people do that, but not everyone
i believe people don't vote solely Dem or Rep because of gun issues - many people voting Dem do it because of their beliefs with other social issues - im willing to bet some Dem voters don't even consider what the blow back will be concerning gun rights due to their vote
could there be more to their reasoning for voting one way or the other besides gun rights? I think so, or it would seem like your political affiliation would come down to solely how you feel about guns and to some people guns aren't even an issue to them - doesn't mean they are necessarily anti-gun, they're just not particularly putting gun ownership issues above everything else they believe in
let's turn it around for a second and see how it looks:
what if the Democratic party was the 2nd Amendment party, pro gun, and the Republican party was anti-gun - all other issues remained the same, the only difference being gun rights
what party would you support? a party that wants open borders, a party that is ok with males using female restrooms, a party that supports killing babies but as long as they were pro gun too they would have your vote?
sure, it's a hypothetical, but it's not that far fetched - point being guns are their own issue and aren't always the deal breaker when people decide which way they want to lean
it's one of the reasons why I don't automatically jump to conclusions when someone tells me they are Democrat, especially here in NV
you'd be surprised at the amount of Democrats who also are firearms owners
maybe they don't see it as many here feel, you know, "Dems coming for your guns" and all - maybe they see it all asstuff on our side - i don't know, having lived here for 3 years now i see a bit of a different Democrat - they're not all extremist trying to take away everyone's gun rights - not now at least
how it all evolves later is yet to be seen

I told all my liberal friends this whenever they ask me to take them to the shooting range. Join the nra and i will teach you everything about guns. I will pay for range fee and ammo. No nra = no shooting range. So far only two took my offer.Any gun owner who does not support the NRA is a freeloader.Comment

The 2nd Amendment ensures ALL THE OTHERS. SO yes, the 2nd amendment is THE MOST IMPORTANT, PERIOD, END OF STORY.
Fair enough. I agree Democrats in other states are often VERY different. CA Democrats are a special breed of left-wing stupid. Extremist, America-hating, racist, intolerant, violent morons.
not saying it can't happen, might be years away, when they can further thin the herd of pro-gun Democrats living here or at least sufficiently outnumber them - there are already Democrats here that, even being pro-gun, do favor some type of gun control, right now it mainly centers around gun registration and better background checks (whatever that means) - funny thing, i've also seen Republicans that are in agreement with that too, which, further proves that when it comes to the gun issue and our rights it's not a straight across the board Democrat or Republican thing, at least not yet in NV
our main argument against registration is that it will ultimately lead to confiscation and we use history as our evidence - unfortunately, not everyone buys into that so it can easily be debunked as rhetoric or more tin foil hat thinking - for some, citing the past is no guarantee as to what can happen in the future - my argument against registration has always been that there is no evidence it will reduce crimes committed with guns in any manner, criminals don't follow the rules - CA is a perfect example of that argument
either way, im still hopeful for this state, at least in the short term, which would probably be my lifetime - can't really say where the state will be 25 years from now - the good thing is, there is still some fight left here, the last 10 years i lived in CA i stopped feeling that way and by the way things look now im pretty sure i was rightOriginally posted by BarangI! hate! you! ... The liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:
* Creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
* Satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
* Augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
* Rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the governmentComment

I always ask anyone I meet at a range who clearly need help if they belong to NRA / CRPA. If no I ask them why. If they offer no reason or opposition, I offer to help / instruct them but the price of my help is to complete an NRA application and join the fight. Anyone who opposes the NRA, I comment on their "nice gun" and mind my own business as long as they dont point their gun at me or anyone else."Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice.
