Loooooooooong term ammo/gun storage question

I stored some guns in vacuum sealed bags. Sprayed them down with CLP.
20 years later they were awesome.

Ammo will be fine where ever you store it, if you plan on storing it under water, get some real surplus ammo cans, they'll keep the moisture out

Don't oil the ammo.

Ammo cans last a long time before they would rust through, like decades. There are bigger cans for mk19 grenades, etc. There are military plastic storage tubes that you could fit an AR upper in.

store ammo in cosomoline paper, or with bags of desicate, if ammo stored with oil, you take a chance of oil penetrating the primer, if your ammo which you plan on storing doesn't have sealed primers, you can paint the primer area with a light coat of fingernail polish

Make sure you mark where you buried it... it’s not gonna grow into an ammo tree if you forgot about it.

NO OIL on ammo.
Buy ammo cans.
I have had ammo in ammo cans since the 80's and are like new. Old steel core.
Ammo cans with a small bag of dissicant.
Mags leave in the safe or buy one of those MTM crates.

Guns disassembled, parts in several vacuum packed bags with dessicant; double bag, no oil. Bury in preferably new ammo can or undamaged ammo can with new seal. The Seal a Meal machine works great. You can easily see if you've left any air pockets. If so, re-seal in a smaller bag.

Same with ammo. Double vaccum pack with dessicant. Bury in ammo can.
