    Buy Compact not for carrying?

Just curious, would you buy a compact without any purchase of carrying?

My first and only gun is a Berretta 92A1. I love the gun but it is huge. So, I want to get another 9mm that is smaller. I am considering the HK P2000 and HK P2000SK (compact). The regular P2000 is noticeable smaller than my Berretta, just unsure if I want to go even smaller with the P2000SK.

Realistically, my guns are just range toys.

I appreciate your comments/suggestions you may have.

I shoot my CZ P-01 and G19 quite often with no intention to carry them.

First handgun I bought was a XD compact 3”. Still love that gun and it’s a great shooter.

P2000SK is considered a subcomact. Too small for range use. Subcompact are only good as a back up if you carry. That is back up not primary piece you carry.

Beretta 92 is a chunky one. Many people find it too big. Glocks have a thick grip too. If you want something that is practical with great ergo and grips, like suggested ^^^, try a czp01, cz75b, or a 1911.
        Good luck.

          If you want 9mm Kahr K9, P9 or CW9.

          Have a Kahr P45 it's a nice subcompact.

                Compact, yes.

                Subcompact, no.

The Beretta Model 92A1 is considered a full sized pistol.

The H&K USP-9 Compact is considered a subcompact sized pistol.
The H&K P-2000 is considered a compact sized pistol.

I like the 19/23/32 frame Glocks even if I wasn't going to carry them.

I have plenty of compact pistols that I don’t use for carry. Many of them just feel better in my hand. I shoot all of them just as well as my full size models.

I placed my Hk P2000sk back into storage as another “safe queen.” It was my daily off-duty gun for about 6-7 years, until I switched to another gun(s) for that purpose.

But the P2000sk really isn’t a joy to shoot at the range. I’d say that if you’re not planning on using it as a ccw gun, don’t bother with it. I’d trust my life to it, and as a sub compact it definately serves a purpose for ccw. But other than that, the ergonomics for just a “range shooter” isn’t that good.

You’d be better off with a G19 sized gun if you want a “smaller” target shooter. When I say “smaller,” I’m comparing it to your Beretta 92

Hell no would i buy a lc9 for range fun. Subcompacts are lousy unless you have hand size of a 10year old
