The gun already has a serial number.. what kind of moron scribes their DL # on the thing too?! Seriously, some people are too stupid for their own good.

If the gun is stolen, found, and turned into the police it'd be a lot easier for them, I'd think, to check a CDL rather than the serial number. But then again, they may be required by law to check the SN.
