You are partially right. The left needs to maintain a liberal majority SC to rule their way on many issues including gun rights because they cannot get the popular vote on their crazy agenda. During the Klinton "assault" weapon ban, I still kept my AR, My dad (class III license holder) kept his guns, my neighbors kept their AR's, and AK's. We never noticed a "ban" nor did we care.

The evil brilliance of CA gun laws lies in it's chaotic lack of any logic.
Chaos creates fear in innocent people. Never knowing which laws pertain to whom and under what definitions that thay may or may not be applied. Never knowing if the law has made you a criminal now, yesterday or years ago or in future. Fear is control. Fear is tyranny. Fear of getting caught for breaking a law you're totally ignorant of. Fear of being a test case and loosing more of your rights. Fear drives slaves.
1 & 2 amendments have a symbiotic relationship. Without 1 you can't have 2 and vise versa.
Do these amendments universally matter in this country any more?
