I've used quite a few different products in the last 50 years and I can honestly say that I've never had a problem with any of them, other than using wheel bearing grease on a Mauser firing pin spring in cold weather. That was my fault for using the wrong product at the wrong time.
Now, I use ATF for oil, because I have a few quarts left over from a leaking Ford, and synthetic wheel bearing grease where appropriate.
I think the correct use and application is the most important thing.

Nothing against Mobil 1, I've used it before, but I fail to see the difference whether used in a car or in a gun, other than the price.
I have read that EDGE is highly refined Group 3 Dino oil and not ester based.

Non-toxic and good between -43F and 547F. Won't separate, dissipate, or become tacky.

I might have to try it if I can find it at a LGS.

The cleaner actually does work, just spray, let it sit and wipe.

But for tougher work, I still prefer Hoppe's #9. I had powder buildup on my Surefire lenses so did a comparison. Hoppe's was more effective imo. But for a quick clean after a range trip, I tend to reach for the Shooters Lube for the spray cleaner. I am also not a fan of the lubricant, seemed to dry up quickly but who knows, maybe it penetrates better.

I use a mineral oil based lube with both anti wear and anti scuff additives and a small amount of rust inhibitor, or a #1 grade EP grease
