One or two of you know that Im from SoCal but I have been living in Malaysia most of the time during the past 18 years. From here I get all kinds of news not shown in USA. Some of that is about guns because the world wonders why Americans go to school and shoot each other. CA has latched on to that news to gain outside help in gun control. It has to be fought.
The world outside generally believes Americans are gun crazy maniacs who threaten the rest of the world with their lunacy. But how did they get to that point of view instead of citizen rights via the Constitution and that local shootings are a tiny percentage of ownership?
I had a surprise the other night....well one step back. Do any of you wonder why Australia has been in USA news regarding guns? I'll answer but for that, another step back. During the past 3-4 years, school shootings in the US have regularly been reported on local TV here in Asia. They report and move on to the next story. Starting about 18 months ago, the shooting reports would be accompanied with anti-gun commentary. Starting about 8 months ago, CA began having Californians and others add their voices to the foreign news reports. And today, the channels dont wait for a school shooting, they are actively engaging various anti-gunners in CA who want to get on the shows to say this: "Californians want the Australia gun control model but need outside help to get there." By popularizing the need for USA gun control, countries' pressure is put on CA (and Trump) to come to their senses (or else?). I have seen CA and American anti-gun reporting in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The shows dont interview pro-gunners or Constitutionalists. Without any opposition, TV viewers, who have never read the Constitution and are not being shown facts and figures, are left with only one POV, that Californians and Americans are out of control maniacs who have to be stopped. At the same time, pro-gunners do not appear to be trying to get onto the shows, or if they are, they are being denied.
Kamala Harris and one black legislator (I cant recall his name) are pushing the concept that if CA can manage to install one complete gun-control model/law, it can and should be made the standard for the rest of the country. Since they believe CA should lead the way, thats the reason California is seeking international help so that the CA GOV has the excuse to say, "well, this is what our world friends seem to want so I guess we should listen." But CA planted those very seeds. In the end CA is saying, "help us so that in turn we can make the world safe" and the movement is catching on by international pressure on the US.
The surprise I mentioned was that I was blindly spinning the SAT channels the other night and saw a "California Gun Expert" espousing all this via his reporting of the latest legislative anti-gun measures on an (Australian?) news channel. They didnt show his name and I have no clue who he was. But the reporter said, "nice to have you on again." Again?
The Left was able to gain international traction because its far easier to get support with "take guns away because they kill children," than to say "lets put more guns out there so we can kill more children." Thats really the point of this post, the argument has been reduced to, "do we kill more people OR do we kill less people?" Nobody is reading the laws, nobodys brain is lit up enough to see anything but the base idea. Its quick and easy understanding for morons.
As a disclaimer, i have to read into some of this stuff because nobody is outright saying this is our plan, this is our motivation, this is where we are going. If you think there is a more plausible explanation, go with that. But from what i can SEE, it seems the flow of anti-activism is going from the outside to CA, then across the country, then to DC and then back out to the rest of world via new US laws that serve as the world's base starting point.
But that's not all because this is also working in reverse. As CA has denounced Trump as a human being and a president, its creating an independent and some might say seditious leadership. It re-signed the Paris Accord and became a Sanctuary State. The outside world, seeing this, seeks out CA for leadership advice regarding ideas for their own countries because Trump doesnt support their (left) point of view so there is no point asking him.
Dems in CA have long since stopped playing fair, witness the Calguns lawsuits, and we got trampled because we didnt stoop to returning that in kind. I for one dont feel like playing fair anymore because its not just the guns they want, its the fundamental change Obama started which leaves us with standing up or getting washed away. We have to overpower the Loud Lunatic Left and force the legislature back to the middle. We have to become loud, too. How many of you dont vote, or give time or money to anything? How many expect the other guy to do it? Rights advocacy is all of our jobs and part and parcel to gun ownership. Get loud, please.
