    Worth talking to them though.
Everyone there is nice except Fred can be grumpy at times.
    "Old School" is pretty polite.

Crosshairs would be my starting point, but I have only shopped there for supplies, not guns.
They were nice before they changed management, I have heard they are even better now.

CAP Tactical in Lawndale I have not used, but worth a check.

      Personal experience?

No, I didn't miss any, and I'm of the opinion that if you can't pass the test then you shouldn't own a gun. But I know money is tight for some people and wouldn't want a fellow gun enthusiast to be inconvenienced.

        Sounds good.

Since this is your first time buy, as long as you know there aren't any issues with your legal record you s/b fine.

If you come up with an "undetermined", they will not release the firearm to you.

Many of us avoid those FFLs just in case when possible.
If your name is very common for example, you can be mistaken for the wrong guy and the system can hold you up.

        Range report requested after.

A $500 Delta is unusually high. You might not be at the right LGS.

One of my preferred LGSs does hang tags with some hefty prices, but they drop off that really fast when they sense a likely buyer and not a lookie loo.

Yeah, I’m definitely seeing after all the fees and such from online dealers that it becomes closer in price than advertised. Davidson’s gun genie has been pretty damn helpful. In either case, I’ve decided to deal with local FFLs it looks like there are a handful with reasonable pricing.

Thanks everyone for the info and help! You’ve all educated me very much and I hope to pass it on to other newcomers one days
