    Until....

Makes sense. I was looking at the contemporary 870s - and they feel "cheapy."

Although my first purchase would be the CZ 75 SP-01 at my LGS' sale this weekend, will also check out the Mossberg!

So many Buckmark's out there. Which one should be on my list?

Hahaha!!! Not yet, sir... Not yet...

    My day job...

Woot! That is one fine looking piece...

    Sorry...

I guess I was pre-occupied getting to IDPA Expert or USPSA mid-"C" the first couple of years rather than knowing more that there is BIGGER playground out there that needs exploring!

Can you get a MK IV here in California (outside a PPT)? After having tried them at FT3, I've always wanted one of those...

I had the Mesa Urbino Tactical with Limbsaver,(still for sale by the way) and it was fine, but I like the look of the M4 stock,so I bought the adapter and buffer tube. It works great, but does add some weight. Just make sure if you go that route, to pin the stock (so its not collapsible) for legal purposes, once you get the right LOP.

I was going to suggest 22 target pistol and 22 lever guns for relaxed target shooting, but you don't seem like the type to relax. You seem more like the run and gun type.

Get a survival rifle and a handgun that can take down bear because you might go camping one day.

My suggestion is a collection of what you like and not what everyone else thinks you should own. I have a variety of calibers so i should be able to find ammo and many of my rifles are paired up caliber wise with a revolver or pistol. I favor 44 caliber but i also like other calibers depending on what strikes my fancy. bottom line is buy what makes you happy and you can handle. Listen to the suggestions and then make up your own mind. But I have yet to see a friends collection that does not have at least one good 22 caliber pistol, revolver, and rifle in it.

You need something semi-auto in .308
                M1A
                FAL
                PTR 91

One of these would be a good addition

Hahaha!!! Not quite... Recently, I've been trying out the Zen of firearms - precision shooting. Hence, my recent Remington 700. And yes - it is indeed very relaxing/satisfying.

But then again, I work on target shooting with my run and gun pistol, too...

Indeed! A revolver is in the list...

Hhhhmm... Speaking of revolvers - early on, about a couple of months after I started, I got to shoot a friend's 629. I guess - I have to choose now between that and the 929/986...

Nice start OP. I too have a spreadsheet

GSG 1911 is kinda junk, replace it with a Buckmark
Disgusting lack of manually actuated guns, you need a 12 gauge pump (don't get rem**** this time), bolt/lever action. 22 at minimum
                            Semi-Auto .308

You've got a nice start though, keep it up!

I'm almost in the same situation as you, got into guns about a year 'n a half ago, and now pondering what to round out my collection with next as well.

                                Whats your 700 chambered in?

Definitely a pump shotgun, a semi soaks up the battering a pump gives you. I wound up buying a mav 88 and a bottom end express 870. If I had to do it again, just the 870, but an older used Wingmaster for sure. The bit ar15barrels states about the Mossbergs, so true, lol. My 88 is my least fav shotgun. Or, if you really wanna punish your shoulder, get one of those single shots that go for like $100.

Definitely a revolver. In fact, get 3. A .357, a .44, and a nice wildcard weirdo... like that Rhino you mentioned, or a big x-frame

I've got a Ruger 10/22 and an M&P 15/22, both good entry level semi-auto .22 rifles. If you find yourself wanting something to train with your AR, but wanna save some pennies, and not having to swap uppers on your AR, the M&P fits that bill nicely imo. If you like tinkering, buy a 10/22 and visit the various shops that have parts, but beware, its one hell of a rabbit hole. I also always see the bolt action CZ455 recommended here and there, so no need to spend $1k+ on a super gucci rimfire (though tro be fair, I think I've spent almost that much on my 10/22...)

I would agree with some of the other comments in getting something funky/old/c&r, but man, compared to just going to a shop and buying something made within the last decade or 2 just seems so much easier... can somebody explain otherwise? Maybe I'm just not looking in the right shops, but none of the ones out here in NorCal I've been to have any
