Winchester White Box

I purchased a can of Winchester White Box 9MM 124 Grain FMJ from Turners last week for the range. I read reviews and most were good so I purchased as they were on sale.

I have shot 300 rounds and this stuff has to be the dirtiest ammo I have ever shot. It blows gas like crazy, leaving a gummy residue once it comes in contact with oiled surfaces and leaves tiny yellow residue all over the place.

Has anyone else experienced this with this ammo? As bad as it is I can't believe I am not seeing a ton of bad reviews on this stuff.

I bought the 115 grain WWB.
It is far from my favorite, agree it is dirty, the other stuff I have not seen.

It’s inexpensive trianing/plinking ammo, sure runs a little dirty but it works well enough. I rarely shoot factory plinking ammo any more, roll your own ammo it’s cheaper, better and you can customize it to your liking.

I clean my guns after every trip, so a little residue is nothing to worry about

Shot it for years...seems about the same as all the other basic cost ammo. I will say that a couple boxes over the years have been a bit dirty as you mention...

I stopped buying Winchester White Box ammo a looong time ago. It is very dirty with a lot of smoke. Kinda like Tula, give or take a little.

What happened to Smokeless Powder?

You can get several other brands that burn clean for the same price, if you shop around. Try Sellier.

I have shot WWB and for some reason i have had about 10 light primer strikes from my M&P9. I have shot other ammo and it works just fine. Not my go to but would shoot it if that was the only thing available.

I've shot a ton of it, and it shoots just fine. Sounds to me like you have a way over oiled/ greased firearm.

I prefer to shoot steel case over WWB. No advantage shooting the more expensive WWB at 7-15 yards considering cost/dirty the round is.

I purchase ammo online and can get Fiochhi or SB at .17/round which is way better than WWB.

When i buy 9mm its always WWB 115gr. They shoot better than i can so i cant really complain, however i have noticed they're not as consistent as my 9mm reloads.

I prefer federal 100 Rd pack over the wwb Walmart special but it isn't the end of the world. It's workablle.

Its dirty and cheap, if you clean your guns, no worries

124 9mm NATO? Love this stuff, good target ammo and it's a bit hot of a load. Groups are good but nothing like my defense rounds
