I store each gun in one of THESE. Nice to keep everything together including little extra accessories that may be needed for each gun (takedown tools, chamber flag, moon clips, speed clips, etc). Rifle mags get stored in rifle cases caked on a shelf.

I think that many here tend to overthink this, I just use appropriately sized cardboard boxes that I label with a sharpie as to the contents, ie, "Galil, Valmet, Russian bakelites, Chinese AK", etc.. They live on a shelf in my gun stuff closet. That way when I want to shoot, say my Thompson M1928, all I have to do is pull down the box marked "Thompson SMG", grab a few mags and I am off to the range.MLC member.

Yeah.... I do something similar. But I also label my magazines. Before labeling them, it was a PITA to determine which sig mag went to each sig. Also helped with my AR mags as I shoot both 556/223 and 762x39. The USGIish mags look the same. Also Ruger LC9 and LC380 mags were a pain as well.I think that many here tend to overthink this, I just use appropriately sized cardboard boxes that I label with a sharpie as to the contents, ie, "Galil, Valmet, Russian bakelites, Chinese AK", etc.. damn, I never thought of that, I would just buy plain magnets and throw them on the back of my cabinet door. This would look much better, thanks for the ideaOrganization! My favourite topic! (I am not OCD at all, mind you. No no.. none of the sort...)
Have you tried this? A magnetic knife rack.
The mag storage solution racks are really awesome.. but I am also a cheapass so no go for me : )

Extra mags go in the garage to reserve valuable safe space for gunz.Comment

I use these holders to attach to the safe door. These are prices way too high right now for what they are. I paid around $20 for a set. Works well for pistol mags.

I sort my mags by gun type, and put them in ammo cans. 50 cal cans for guns that use larger mags or guns that I have large quantities of mags. plastic Plano ammo cans for smaller mags/quantities. Occasionally I have to “graduate” a type of mag from a Plano to a 50 cal can, which is never a bad day.Last edited by boopiejones; 08-03-2018, 9:46 AM.my Benitez goes to 11Comment

I don't have enough mags to worry about really. I have at least 5 mags for each gun I have, some have 10, some have 16-20.
All the handgun mags that are used regularly are in the safe on a door organizer.
AR mags are loaded and in the ammo can with more bulk ammo. Other mags are in the rifle's cases.Comment
