I'm inclined to agree that if a person willingly participates in an illegal firearms sale/purchase than they should be subject to the law and possibly have their firearms removed.
Who knows if this is the first time the person has done this. Who knows how many firearms he owns that were illegally purchased or are intended to be illegally sold.
It's these types of lawbreakers that help make it possible for people like Lovelle Mixon to get ahold of firearms and kill 4 police.
If you can't respect the law then you lose your privileges. I would think that fellow Calgunners would agree, if at least partially, with this because it is these kinds of people that make dealing in firearms difficult for the rest of us. It is these people that give a free pass to the politicians to enact even harsher gun laws, gun laws that only affect the law abiding which these sellers are obviously not.
Besides I like to think there is a responsibility associated with owning and handling a firearm that goes beyond simply knowing safe handing procedures. It is the gun owners responsibility to know the laws as well. If they do not know the law then it is their own fault.
Am I wrong or perhaps misinformed to think this way? Maybe I don't fully understand the situation.Last edited by JoeC; 03-29-2009, 1:23 AM.Comment

STUPID ? AND STUPID IDEAL JUST A THOUGHT
i wonder what would happen if i brought a gun case to a gun show knowing some stupid undercover going to come and try to make me sell it illegally to him? the ideal is that the case is empty and you have said noting about inside the case if it had anything. but the undercover dont know it. And he still insist on you to sell it. Then you give him a price($1000+) let say he actually handed the money to you, it is possible for you to keep the money because you just made a huge profit in selling a gun case that is lock, becuase there is no gun or anything illegal?"You don't go duck shooting if one out of every twenty ducks shoots back" -- Chuck Michel, Atty, 2008.Comment

I think they would want to see the gun first. Otherwise, throw 5 pounds of lead pipe in there and go make yourself a g. Better not get greedy, just ask for 800STUPID ? AND STUPID IDEAL JUST A THOUGHT

STILL JUST A THOUGHT
Well he will want to see the product first yeah. but you insist to get the money first. If he don't give you the money walk away and make him think you are going to sell something illegal. Most likely he'll give in. Oh, and yes have to make sure the case feel heavy. hahhaha"You don't go duck shooting if one out of every twenty ducks shoots back" -- Chuck Michel, Atty, 2008.Comment

Assuming you pulled it off, they'd probably arrest you for fraud or whatever (since you would have misrepresented the bunch of pipes you sold). I don't think there is a way to pull it off and get away with it.STILL JUST A THOUGHT

There was a dealer at a gun show years ago (Cal expo perhaps) that had one of those scale replica 1911's that has the leaded barrel and is unable to chamber a round or fire anything on his table.
The gun looked and felt real; the safeties worked and it cocked and fired.... it worked just like a real 1911 except the bang part.
Undercover basically pressed the issue of purchasing it without the paperwork etc... after flashing a bunch of money the dealer relented and took the cash (which he promptly gave to his wife and told her to leave). After sale contact was made when the cops realized it was a fancy paperweight and demanded their money back.
Dealer told them to pound salt; the guy begged to buy it and he sold it to him, end of discussion.
I would have been laughing all the way to the bank!Comment
