    Clark County Shooting Complex

I am considering taking a trip with a few buddies to the new Clark County Shooting Complex in NV and check it out. Has anyone been there before? It seems huge but there's not much info online about it.

I thought I'd seek some advice from anyone who's been there and tried out the facilities. I'd like to spend at least a full day shooting, and perhaps another day taking a tactical class/CCW class or two. Any suggestions on instructors to contact? Pistol/rifle/shotgun all sound fun.

Or if you have other suggestions on local outdoor training classes I'd love to hear it, basically I just hate shooting indoors and enjoy shooting in a gun friendly state.

It's great. The 9.00 range fee is for all day at both the pistol and rifle sides. You can go away and come back the same day, no extra charge. The shotgun ranges look really top notch, but I haven't shot there. Targets are a dollar or less. Frames are supplied.

Ask your question at nevadashooters.com They are very friendly and many are California ex-pats.

The whole thing is nice. I only went once, on the shotgun side for skeet. It wasn't busy, and there is lighting to shoot after dark. It was very nice but could be more difficult when busy. It will be hot this time of year though...

fyi, they are closed on Mon and Tues.

i have been there only once before. shot on the rifle side. most of the lanes are about 100yds, and i believe a small amount are out to 200 yds.

the target frames are provided with your range fee, and they have a set distance holders for the frames in each lane (it is cement slots in the ground so no way to cross into other lanes with your target)

friendly staff and nice AC office where you can sit, buy snacks/drinks, and gun rentals. there is a main RO that sits in the center of the firing line in an elevated position that calls the cease fires, and a walking RO's to check clears, and check on shooters.

imo, going there will make most public ranges here in CA look like dumps.

I've been there several times. it's one of the nicest ranges I've ever been to.

The RV park is cheap, very nice, and if you stay there I think you can shoot on Monday and Tuesday when they are closed.

The restaurant is really good as well.

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

as for trainers, my wife and I have both had good results with Eric Kelley from 3-Dot Group in Vegas.

3 Dot Sight Group provides firearms classes. We offer training all over Nevada with NRA certified instructors. Top firearms training in Las Vegas

Wow, that place looks hugely expanded since I was out there last in the late 90's.

It's a different mindset than here in Cali. The first time I went there they said if I was shooting anything full auto, tell the RSO to give you a spot at the end!

Keep eyes on the bused in tourists. If they are next to your lane, watch out!!

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I haven't seen it.

The tourists tend to go to the machine-gun-rental places on-Strip. This place was very locals-heavy, including league nights at the shotgun fields.

I shot the American Marksman regional there. It’s one of the biggest and cleanest shooting facilities I’ve ever been to.

Great place to go to. Plus if a friend or 2 fly in and ask to shoot something I surprise them on the 200 yard lane with the 50.

this, the time i went, it was purely locals.

this was when they first opened up so they hadn't really offered rentals besides the usual shotgun for trap/skeet.

plus this range is located on the north end of the city of vegas, so far away from the casinos most tourists (foreign or domestic) wouldn't know about it unless they had a local friend.
