I would speculate that Lenny either has an AW permit, or it was filmed out of state, so video evidence is not conlusive.

I'm not sure if you saw the video but he said "Here in our range at our store in San Diego..."

Suppose he was told unofficially that it was legal, but the CA ATF decides it isn't, the previous instruction was somebody's incorrect opinion, and comes after him. He says "I was lying in the video, I was actually in Arizona. No, I don't have any here, they ship from another warehouse" *sound of car doors being slammed hurridly*.

They may not believe him, but they decide it will cost way too much money to attempt to break his ailibi and the probability of success isn't high enough. They decide not to bother. He doesn't end up in jail, but you still could.

            Hi ugimports,
I watched the video last year sometime, I did not remember he said that in the video, good catch. I have not been to the Glock Store in San Diego, but it looks massive with several employees, with a built in shooting range he uses for filming. He's probably a blue label dealer, meaning he sells to law enforcement at a deep discount. Check out his videos from the 1990's if your ever bored. I doubt he's going anyplace.

Are you sure about that? The barrel of the GLOCK is still enclosed within the slide, Micro Roni provides nothing but some kind of muzzle device if that. The Micro RONI is multi caliber, so essentially the projectile flies out of the factory barrel and through the "tunnel" of the RONI.

I see what makes you think that it's a "barrel Shroud", but it's really a whole handgun enclosure. Something did happen though between The GLOCK Store, and the CA DOJ as they now say on their site that it is illegal to use in California.

Related topic. This product, like the micro roni, has a brace/shockwave blade but nothing around the slide/barrel.

Some said it’s illegal because it attaches to the handgun. So then what about this product that does not?

Didn't someone say DOJ called the glockstore to have them pull the micro ronis from the shelves not too long ago? Whatever happened to that, did they reverse their advisory?

                    CAA Micro Roni

I follow Microroni and CAA gear up on instagram. I received a direct message from CAA on instagram saying:

"Hey! We see you are following the @microroni instagram page. We would like to inform you that they are our direct competition and people often confuse them with us. We are @caagearup with the original/official website caagearup.com. Thanks for understanding!"

They both have their own website Micro-roni.com and Caagearup.com.

So are these 2 companies different from each other? Who is the manufacturer?

                      Appears that...

micro-roni is the European specific website and caagearup is the USA specific website.

Main manufacturing is based in Israel.

                      Under CA laws/regulations...

Installation of the Roni kit can make a handgun into a SBR or an assault weapon. This causes the majority of the Roni kits to be CA illegal.

In order to be CA legal, the semi-auto pistol with the Roni Recon kit installed must operate with a fixed 10 round magazine that is contained in the firearm and can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action or is permanently attached in the firearm's magazine well.

Anyone else think the doj .....

Anyone else think the doj's definition of barrel shroud in regards to CAA braced roni's with angled grip is a stretch ? My thinking is that by that stretch then the frame itself on a pistol is a barrel shroud if the frame partially covers the barrel

Agreed. The slide would be a barrel shroud too, wouldn't it?

barrel shroud isn't their only issue.

they classify the front grip area on the roni's to be considered a secondary forward grip.

so even if you argue against the barrel shroud being a bogus claim, how will you argue that second grip?

It's a angled grip (which don't count as a secondary grip) hence why I stated angled grip and the model with the brace .... The slide is specifically exempt in the law but frame is not
