Breakthrough -My Favorite Solvent

I clean my guns in the back room of my shop and I got really tired of the strong solvent scent that Hoppe's or BreakFree CLP have. The smell would linger for days. I recently discovered a solvent called BreakThrough and, I love it. It does a great job of breaking up the carbon and, there is absolutely no scent. It is a little hard to find in brick and mortar stores but, really easy to find on-line.

I have absolutely no affiliation with this company...I just wanted to share my experience.

That's true. She prefers Ballistol or nothing at all.

Brings back childhood memories for a lot of us though. Like going back in time for a visit. Plus, 9 out of 10 southern women dig it as a cologne

I don't detect any smell at all from CLP......at all. None at all. I can smell Hoppes and Ballistol......but not Breakfree CLP.

Seriously I have no idea what TF you are talking about with a CLP smell.

As a joke my mom would take a dab of Hoppes behind her ear and get close to my dad. He would tell her that it was the best smelling cologne she had.

Your nose must be different than mine; I get a distinct WD40 type scent from Breakfree CLP. It isn't as strong as Hoppe's but, it is definitely there. YMMV

I dunno, freshly spilled-from-the-bottle Hoppes is nice, but to me, after it sits in the air for a while, something about it starts to smell harsh...

That Breakthrough stuff looks like something that would come in one of those monthly mail blind crate deals. I really would like to sub to one of those for gun stuff but I already sub to 3 different crates from other hobbies already
