Did my first gun leather project

Just curious.... I grewup in Indiana in the 60, did you all have "leather" in high school shop class?

Both of these would have been great projects, vs. the eyeglass case I made for my dad.

My only leather experience was making knife sheaths in Boy Scouts. Granted I think they changed the Leatherworking merit badge to Muffin Baking.

It looks like you might have embossed the leather too?

I also made one this week, not as refined but then again neither is the shotgun it went on. I was going for a minimalist look, which is a good thing because I don't have any leather tools or leather skills yet And all I had were scraps of leather.

Yours is still good, especially for not having tools! I like the minimalist approach. Yes, I did some freehand embossing...put my name on it. Came out ok. I dont have proper embossing tools.
