I gave it a try at the steel plate handgun range. Shot my 1911 and HP right handed. I could barely hold the pieces, let alone hit the plates! The guys next to me were talking and saying "look at that yahoo". Since I was the only yahoo there I figured they were talking about me. Then I dropped the magazine from the 1911 when I ejected it. That elicited further comments.

It best tradition of "The Princess Bride" I recalled the sword fight between Wesley and Inigo Montoya When they both switched sword hands, murmered out loud "but I am not right handed", switched hands and proceeded to hammer the plates with the 1911. Deftely ejected the magazine, caught it, inserted a loaded magazine and did another 7 hits on the plates. That quieted them down.

Then I sat down because my shoulder was hurting like a MF.

Nice gesture to spot a vet the $20 range fee. Now, how about giving veterans 100% free college tuition, low interest home loans, a V.A. healthcare system that works a little better, and a full-fledged transition program from active military to civilian full-time employment. Just sayin'. We're not doing nearly enough for our veterans, and we are wasting a valuable resource. These are people that we have already invested a small fortune in. How about building on that foundation?
