been there. when my HSC expired in 2016 I had just acquired my TRR8 which quickly became my favorite handgun. I thought I would be happy with just long guns, using my hunting license.

a year later, OD Glock 19s became available after a drought so I got my FSC.

and then De Leon introduced his charitable deductions bill to thwart the Trump tax cut. it became clear to me then that California really is a socialist state.

so now I boycott the state of California. after 30 years of having a California hunting license, and paying all the other fees the state levies to hunt, no more. no more hunting license and stamps, deer and elk tag applications and no more waterfowl applications. F the state. I estimate I was spending about $300 a year for rapidly declining hunting opportunities and success.

btw, I have 11 elk points and 3 for deer.

Both my HSC and FSC are still good. I think my HSC expires January of next year, and my FSC expires 3 years from now...

Mine expires in 2020 as well but won't renew it if I'm still here. Not buying anything else till I move to a free State.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Really? I thought all a CCW got you out of was the safe handling demonstration? You have successfully bought a gun by just flashing your CCW and no FSC?

Why would you go out of your way to renew it unless you were already planning on buying something in the near future

My HSC has expired several times over the years, I have only gotten one of the new ones and if expires so be it. Unless you're buying there's no need to renew. You don't have to have one just to own guns.

I just use my military ID. No need for a silly FSC.

There isn't really any point in getting guns in CA anymore.

No need to "keep it renewed". If you buy another handgun someday, then get a new FSC then. If you don't, then you saved some money. No point in getting a new FSC until you need it for something.

I've never had an FSC... My HSC just expired a few months ago and I tossed it in the garbage. CCW and hunting license covers the bases.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

I just use my CCW permit.

                                Don't need to.

I have a BFSC, and it's good for life.
