Yes. As a case in point, check out this instance of a modern speech tool being used to bring violence and death. Spoiler alert: Facebook.Comment

What you're neglecting though, was the fallacy about only muskets being included in the 2nd.
When the founders penned the 2nd, there was indeed semi-autos and full-autos. They were aware of those weapons. The citizen soldiers also brought forth privately held warships, cannons, mortars, and explosives for use in the Revolutionary War. The 2nd was written with all those weapons in mind for citizens to possess.
In addition, when the 2nd was written, the definition of militia meant the whole of the people. The modern definition of "militia" being the National Guard didn't exist until 100 years after the 2nd was written."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill
"I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!" - Senator Barry GoldwaterComment

Good points all around. I've heard that argument, and while it makes a lot of sense, I wanted to frame an argument that put the other side in our shoes. "What if you have to give up your favorite tool to exercise your favorite amendment?"Comment

Never justify your position or your choice of weapons. when you do then you are the defensive and have most likely lost the fight before it started. Take the high ground in any attempt to debate you. simply cite the rights you have, and make those rights non-negotiable. that will frustrate them, make them angry, and an angry usually does not think straight making your job of defeating him much more possible. They want change and you don't and if they cannot negotiate them they cannot win without violence and then they lose anyway because they have proven your point that you need the weapons in question to provide self defense. They can only win if they can resort to violence and you cannot defeat them. They want what you have and dying for it does them no good. the fear of death in a confrontation is what keeps them honest.Comment
