WOW, they cost more than many guns. Why? And I am not including the tax stamp.
Govt. regulation and micromanagement limits the number of buyers. When that happens prices will always be higher. Simple supply and demand.

Why are Glocks bad and SIGs good? Glock opens too quick? Brownells has threaded barrels on sale.

What about SIG 320's? I have one that came with suppressor sights.

i have to audit my inventory. i have a few .22 cans. maybe a 9 or 45 but not sure.

striker vs hammer. not at bad on ppq. glock is a sloppy built gun to be reliable but the slop binds up when weight is added to the front of the barrel. the lockup release is too fast so it gets blowback. blow back is noise not going through the muffler and out the back of the barrel.

if you want quiet get a 22 can. my buddy was running his suppressed .22 gsg and it sounded like an airsoft gun. i was running my selectfire mp5 with obsidian45 and 158gr fiocchi and the action was too loud for my standard. same can and ammo is much quieter on a legion.

CANS probably cost more than they should. Because it's a controlled item and completely outlawed in some states, the volume of sales for suppressors is suppressed (PUN intended). This means competition and technological improvements has been suppressed too, and prices remain higher.

            That's just my opinion.

Suppressors are made to last a lifetime. Many have fancy materials that go into them for durability and weight reasons. Those are one of those pay once, cry once type of purchases. With that said, look into YHM’s offerings. They’re well built and are reasonably priced compared to others. (And some like the Turbo K is always out of stock ). You can look at Gun Pro Deals for their specials and also look at discontinued lines for bargains.

              .
EDIT: Wow, I didn’t realize I was replying to a necro thread LOL. By now Marauder2003 probably already has a couple in the safe. What did you end up getting, sir?

So a SIG P320 might be just as bad as a Glock because it's also striker fired?

I guess when I watch silencer tests I better pay attention to which pistol is used.

That's impressive about the Obsidian. My buddy's S&H MP5-SD was certainly not quiet enough to hear the action, but we were shooting 115 grainers and maybe that makes a difference. My understanding on the S&H conversions was that they did a good job on the silencer.

As for .22's, I just don't shoot 'em. I don't even have a pistol with a threaded muzzle and a rifle doesn't even need ear pro with a bare muzzle. I consider buying one from time to time until I remember the last time I shot a .22 was sometime in the 1980's.

My buddys PPQ is not bad so maybe th eP320 will suppress better than a glock. I just gave up on them because they are noticeably loud.

115gr is not gonna cut it. 147gr or heavier and it can;t be fast 147 like speer lawman.

I don;t shoot 22 much anymore but they make a big difference with a suppressor. it is fun to hear the steel plates ding.

Congrats. As soon as I found freedom, I started buying cans since Sisolak promised to "make them illegal" during his gubernatorial campaign. Keep buying them regularly as your wallet allows. I learned my lesson as a Californian.

Remember, the MP5-SD has the barrel drilled to drop 115's subsonic. We didn't hear any supersonic cracks.

My 16" AR makes American Eagle 147 supersonic, I could hear the crack.

Are you sure? If oyu got no supersonic crack there is not much noise being produced other than the bolt movement. A little noise from the explosion but that can be distinct form the cycle. It is 2 sounds like pop, clang, pop, clang but so close that are almost at the same time so poclang.

I can hear my AR 22 conversion rattle like crazy since it has 2 separate parts and the movement of the spring back and forth.

There was a fair amount of port pop while shooting the MP5-SD. Standing off by 20 feet we couldn't hear a lot of anything. We were only shooting it full auto though, so maybe on semi we would hear the action more, although the action seemed to be pretty quiet.

What's been your experience with 3 lug mounts? My Octane already had a 3 lug coupler on it, so I tried it on my 10 inch Blackout upper. It was darn loud. Do you think the 3 lug could be leaking enough to make it not hearing safe?

3 lug is not ideal but is easy. Direct thread only for best result.
