Shoot yourself in the behind and you could very well strike the popliteal artery, if the bullet travels down your leg. And bullets can do all sorts of things inside the body, like the video pointed out. Point being, the leg has a bunch of vasculature, not just the femoral can kill you.

Seriously, I'm right there with you on the umbilical or appendix carry. It was nerve-racking having the pistol pointing in that area. My preferred location is IWB right about 2:45.

Off body carry is probably one of the worst carry options available.

I've tried appendix carry with a number of different guns and it's just not comfortable for me. I usually carry in the 3-5 position IWB, or I'll open carry since I'm in a free state.

I do carry appendix sometimes, and believe me, I'm VERY careful when I holster.

I have been using the Urban Carry G2. It drops the muzzle of the gun very low so at least it's not pointing right at your junk or high femoral area.
