It’s not a felony to install dry storage cups inside a mag light. Although you’d have to be pretty stupid to spend $230 just so you can store a few little items in your flashlight while cutting your flashlight run time in half.

first of all its 80% suppressor COMPONENTS in a bag, not a "suppressor in a bag" there is a difference. and because of this its 100% legal. it's not a suppressor till you build the damned thing. and if someone is willing to take the risk and illegally assemble and use it for the inferred purpose? well, caveat emptor...

we all know what the parts have the potential to be.
BUT! possession of such until substantial completion isn't as far as I know, a felony.



one could also say: how is it legal to own a 4 pound billet of aluminum, a CNC machine and a CAM file for a Full auto AR15 lower?
we all know what the above has the potential to become, but is it illegal to have those 3 items?

You do know that home building of suppressors is a popular and legal activity, don't you? Arfcom has a separate section for people who like to build them. There's a lot of things that are legal outside of CA.

There have been handy ways to break firearms laws and get neat stuff for years.

There's no hole for the bullet, that stuff is completely legal. It's on amazon too, not just fleabay. File paperwork with ATF just like if you were buying a can from a manufacturer, get approved, and you can drill holes and assemble. You can make a very effective can for handgun rounds that can outperform some big name cans. Rifle rounds are a different story, you need tougher baffles than stainless steel.

You guys that are claiming that these traps and components are illegal should take a hard look at anything else that is 80% related like AR and pistol 80% lowers/frames.

Like another poster mentioned, there is a thing called a Form 1 that you can use to build your own suppressor legally. Obviously doesn't apply to CA but many people do this the same reason people build ARs from 80%s.

Now in CA, since the CA DOJ has issues with constructive possession (i.e. extra AR Pistol upper, etc) it is a different story.
