    The 9, 40 & 45 debate is over!!!

Not really a debate just decided to bring it down to two calibers. Wife got rid of her .22 and I just sold my .45 yesterday so the only calibers left are 9mm and .40S&W.

    My wife shoots 9mm exclusively (P226, P229 & P239) and I shoot .40 exclusively (P226, P229 & P239)

I also changed her pistols triggers w/ SRT and installed FDE grips to identify hers. Mine's are with regular triggers and put on OD Green grips.

Both our AR's are 223/556 so everything is simple and easy.

To each his own. After doing some homework, I realized that I have no use for .40 cal.

A few years ago I swapped out my .40 barrels with 9mm conversion barrels and bought more 9mm mags. I only ever plan on shooting .40 again if there's another panic run on 9mm and .40 becomes cheaper/more available again like after Sandy Hook.

        LOL tradecraft! Hahaha...

wtf OP. I'm with Post #2: If'n you wuz gonna keep two calibr0s, you shoulda kept 45! as one of them. And since only Liberals shoot .357" or smaller, .40 is the second choice.

I have way too many handgun calibers. The only one ones I actually shoot are 9mm (about 300 rounds a week) 45 (about 100/week) and 380 (about 50/month)

Every once in a while I will bring something else to the range, like a 460, 357, 22lr, etc.

I’ve converted most of my 40 cal handguns to 9mm, and the others just collect dust.

Wife got bored shooting .22 that's why she sold hers.

I sold my .45 because it's just sitting in my safe and with new ammo law, I'm limited to where I can buy cheap ammo. I don't reload so it makes sense to send it to a new home who appreciate .45. So bringing it down to two calibers is a no brainer.

The debate will go on as long as there is more than one gun owner.

I only have 9mm and 45. I never liked the .40 and sold those off. The .40 is such and odd caliber.

Two things are indisputable in the gun world...

                    1) .40 is a dying caliber

                    And

                      .40 cal

For when you want 9mm stopping power with extra snap and innacuracy!

I'm a 9mm only guy. All my handguns (and looking for a revolver) stay at that caliber so I don't have to keep track of two sets of ammo. Ditto for my rifles. They all shoot one caliber for the same reason. I know. Anathema.

If you two are happy with your choices, good for you. I have guns for two reasons. To protect me and mine and to have fun. One caliber doesn't cut it for me. 22lr is cheap, fun to shoot and still gives you the chance to hone your gun skills. 9, 38 special and 45 will give me and mine a chance at living if it comes to it. The rifles will feed me and keep others at bay at a longer distance if need be.
