Given a choice of a rock or nothing, I will chuck rocks. At least the kids are being taught to fight back instead being perfect victims.

Yeah, and they usually end up getting shot.

As dumb as it sounds, it's not like we're going to let junior high and HS kids carry.

Yeah, no doubt. 30 kids throwing river rocks at close range could be effective. Some high school kids can throw pretty good.

No... to the mind of an active shooter who's whole focus is to kill as many people in a short amount of time as possible, and in most cases that means killing himself as well, throwing rocks is just letting him know where to point his gun. Chunks of rock against a repetitive "thrower" of .223 caliber 55gr chunk of lead traveling at 2250fps.

Really easy to see who is going to win that tossing contest.

This isn't a David and Goliath Hollywood ending. All rock throwers will be shot on sight. Guaranteed.

Imploring a mentality to fight back is a good thing; doing it unrealistically is just silly (throwing rocks) and will get more people killed than if they had take a better course of action.

                  .

No. Lots of doubt. So much so, it's silly to think otherwise.

One kid, throwing 30 rounds of .223 caliber 55gr chunks of lead at close range is REALLY effective.

What kid is going to be the first to stand up and throw a rock? The worrysome part of this story is that the moron that thought this up is a school leader.
