I suggest skipping the first two steps and starting with the 3rd one.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

"Use weapons"... in some districts in CA, you aren't allowed to carry those.

ours is the run, hide, fight

and for the fight part, they just said to use whatever you can find in your area. yea... i'll just keep my unloaded and locked up pistol in my bag at my desk.

working in jewelry there is a high chance of armed assailants trying to rob the place.

S*** in your hand and throw it. Kinda like the suggestion to for women to urinate on themselves.

Not everyone is armed. Using whatever you have to distract the shooter and slow him/her down is a good thing.

That's a rather generalized statement that is nowhere near accurate.

If there is a high probability that an armed assailant robbing you, why wouldn't you keep it loaded? Same with locking it up in a bag at your desk. I would keep it immediately accessible. You are being sarcastic, right!

A pencil stuck in the eye of a assailant may divert his attention.

Wrong! That's what hobos do when they attack you.
