Hey, it could happen, possibly, maybe.

    Though not likely.
Nope... I will never do business with "Dick's" just like I will never do business with Ruger....

Unless we remember and impose a permanent penalty for taking action against us, there is no reason for a business to fear taking an anti gun position.

I am boycotting Dicks sporting goods ! Not because of the age restrictions or not stocking AR type rifles.
Dicks crossed the line with this statement posted after Florida.

"We have tremendous respect and admiration for the students organizing and making their voices heard regarding gun violence in schools and elsewhere in our country."

Now if Dicks issues an apology stating children really are unaware and ignorant of how 2A came about! Or how history shows us how oppressive and violent Governments can become when citizens are disarmed I would forgive them and shop again.

Not sure if our boycott will hurt Dicks profit's ? One thing certain a boycott will not help them!

To early to really know if the downturn is related to their new firearms policy, but I hope it is!

That said, I didn't shop there anyway. The store near me had nothing of interest.

I won't shop there for anything. My household spent a lot of money there with my kid in sports, clothing, ammo, etc.

While it's funny timing, they have already been a sinking ship for a while financially, I've been wondering if they may have taken the stance as a way to kind of put the forest before the trees to investors.

Dick’s Is Tumbling, and Its Woes Have Nothing to Do With Guns

                  Opening of the article:

Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. has vowed to limit sales of guns. Its problem, however, is poor sales of everything else.

I've never bought anything gun related from them because they pretty much sell crap... But we've bought camping stuff, golf stuff, shoes etc.

Never, ever, and I mean never will they see another penny from this household.

No matter what the true cause of the decline, the negative exposure in 2A circles didn't help. Further, if a core group of customers stops buying, it's inevitable that the sales will be hurt. To believe otherwise is to imply that the basic economic principles don't apply.

Either way, the di#@$ got what they deserved.

Every dicks I have ever been to has the guns way in the back of the store. This might be to prevent gun thefts, but it is also likely so that people going to look at guns and ammo might buy something else. Guns are among the most expensive items in the store. Losing a gun buyer is a crushing blow vs losing someone coming in to buy the occasional pair of shoes or shorts. If we all stop making the trip to the back of the store, countless dollars will be lost on sales that would have occurred along the way.

That being said, the results they recently posted are due to a lack of sales before their anti-2A announcement. I suspect next quarter will be even worse.

I used to buy shotgun target ammo there. No more.
