Walkouts!

Neither of my kids walked and both said their teachers did a great job of explaining the futility of doing so. Both said the only kids that did walk were the troublemakers, tards and snowflakes. Luckily we don't have a crap ton of them out here."Democracy is beautiful in theory; in practice it is a fallacy. You in America will see that some day." - ll DuceComment

The 20-25 kids that did walkout were informed that they would be given unexcused absences and will have to do make up "on their time" after regular classes are done for the day.Comment

- Why aren't the parents exercising their expectations of well being for their children and stopping this nonsense?
- Why are the school administrators and educators allowing this?
- Why aren't the school administrators and the educators being disciplined for allow this to occur?
- Wouldn't this be in violation of their Mission Statement and Ethics? The satisfaction of a job well done is to be the one who has done it

What a stupid concept. Why not let children give there opinion on the other amendments or the Constitution, or the pending budget bill? Maybe let them start voting at age 10 ? What a stupid concept.Comment

I don't recall organized nationwide walks-outs to protest the following school related problems:
The frequently recurring problem of teachers (male and female) having carnal relations with their vulnerable underage students.
High drop out rates

Exasperating to hear from you guys that many, many, many students/schools did NOT participate in the walkout. Yes, watching the fuggin news, they made it seem that it was a full-on national occurence

I feel regardless weather 1 or 1000 student's participated. Politcal agendas shouldnt be pushed so hard on them they are forced to cut short days that otherwise should be spent getting an education. Then you have media capitalizing on the underdeveloped minds of children that wouldnt know left from right with these issues. I just dont get how alot of parents are so ignorant to the fact they are letting other adults with ****t* veiws and morals mold their kids mind.Comment

back when I was in high school the teachers would give you a bad grade if you didnt agree with their views and try to criticize you in front of the whole class to try and make you agree with them, most kids will try to follow the crowd so they fit in even if they dont really agree with it
back then I use to think teachers were always right because they know everything and they have a higher education, later I realized they were full of cr@p.Comment

Schools are sanctioning it so it damn sure isn't a walkout. It's actually students conforming to the government authority by speaking a government-approved opinion in a government-approved venue. And that opinion is that they should have their own rights taken away by the government whose opinion they are expressing.
You have students marching with the sanction of the state to demand less freedom from the state...and everyone is pretending that their doing so is somehow brave and rebellious.
