The difficulties ? seems getting plugged by a responding cop is a real threat! In this case a cop fired twice one shot hit him in the back.
In the morning of Feb. 14 — the same day as the Florida school shooting that killed 17 kids and teachers — Garces wrestled a handgun away from a man who had entered the chapel at Faith City Mission and threatened to hold church attendees hostage.

Make the perp "Holy", Then set the weapon down.

Definitely a plug the perp moment in the comission of a felony.

Cop was just doing his job. Whoever called 911 should have given a better description of the perp if possible. Also when an officer tells you to do something, just do it. Either way seems like crisis was averted and the man who disarmed the perp doesn't have life threatening injuries. A win in my book.

Kill the bad guy, call 911 with an extremely detailed description of what happened, what everyone looks like, who’s good and who’s bad, etc. explain to them where the weapons will be, so there are no surprises when the cops show up.

If you can’t kill the bad guy and need to hold him at gunpoint until the cops arrive, be extremely clear what the good guy and bad guy looks like and follow the cops orders when they arrive.

When the action is over, don't run around the scene with a drawn weapon. LEOs are responding to "man with a gun" or "active shooter". If you have a gun out, they will focus on you, and you become "the guy."

which they don't because most CCW holders are self aware enough to know what to do when LEO's arrive,

The guy had a point He could have dropped it, then if it went off it could have hit him or someone else and he'd probably been been shot by the cop anyway.

Good call about NBC making it into a hit piece on arming teachers! A brainless concept if ever there was one.

Hey NBC a teacher just saved a bunch of kids from being murdered ! Yet you dimwitted fools are worried the teacher will get shot!

Jeekers Quilts! Maybe its better in those cases to NOT call police ! Especially if they are headed by an anti gun Hilldog supporting sheriff from Coward county Florida. A bunch of Chickenshix who would no doubt shoot the teacher to prevent any interviews by a legitimate news outlet.
