Ok I'm confused csacannoneer seems to be bragging on California gun laws and saying they are laxed , that would not be so surprising if he were not affiliated with the NRA . Let me make this clear ,I'm a member of calgun and have friends in comiefornia ,I don't go on the California site and troll or belittle California because 22 years ago I moved to Mo. and was shocked to find mo. not only didn't let you carry concealed but not even concealed in your car but with a lot of work and demanding our rights we now have cc with out a permit . We did not get that by pretending it was ok for our rights to be violated . Hopefully California will one day enjoy the freedom other states do and I see from some of your posts you are making some progress .

Imperial county... wow yeah you'd think it would be a prime CCW country but it's in all regards a liberal chithole. It's some rough country, probably the crummiest area in California by most people's measure.Leave a comment:

Dangerous cities, and mostly rural so long LE response times: sounds like the perfect combination for law-abiding residents to need CCWs.Extremely sparsely populated with a very heavily, uhh... "entitled" resident and transient resident base.
El Centro is a real crap hole, as is Brawley, Calexico, and Niland.
I seriously do not feel safe outside of my car pretty much anywhere in any of the cities.
It is mostly agricultural (virtually slave labor), with some commercial support for the military installations and tourists going to and from Ocotillo and Glamis.
It's rural, but it is also extremely poor.
Now you need is to organize to elect a pro-CCW sheriff. The deadline for applicants is a few weeks away and the election is early June.
You should start by contacting your local NRA Members Council or find out how to form one: https://www.facebook.com/NRAMembersCouncils/Last edited by Paladin; 02-03-2018, 12:07 PM.Leave a comment:

Don't worry, I did....Originally posted by HopalongImproved things? In what way? I just sent baggss a PM of facts that show just the opposite. Have him share them with you.Leave a comment:

Thank you!
Click on either link in my sig line (1 is the main Map thread here on CalGuns, the other is my website) and you will find a large table that goes with the map. It shows how many permits are active per County. Keep in mind that some of the numbers are several years old, actual numbers have been hard to find since the DoJ stopped reporting them to the public back in 2011.Leave a comment:

I'll do that and take the topic over to the Concealed Carry County Info thread for SLO this weekend.Originally posted by HopalongImproved things? In what way? I just sent baggss a PM of facts that show just the opposite. Have him share them with you.

Nope, no half truths in my posts. The fact is that CA and many other states issue CCWs that allow people to carry in otherwise prohibited locations just like you are claiming that AR is also doing so isn't really news, is it? I did't attack you, I simply made a statement of fact. You still haven't included any details about special places or the special training, which they have to pay, for will allow AR residents to carry in those new places. So, they will need to pay more and have two training classes, that doesn't seem fair, does it? I'm glad to hear that AR is getting a little more CCW friendly but, in many ways CA's CCW laws are still much less restrictive than AR's. In CA, state law allows us to carry in almost all public buildings, including courthouses (with the exception of courtrooms if you are a party to the case being heard). The list of restricted places in AR is exceptionally long.Did you even bother to read the posts ? He started out with NewsFlash and implied what Ark. was doing was no different than what California already does which is BS . Of course in later posts he did walk it back and say well some areas do let some people but only good moral people and they have to pay for it and pay to be trained . I didn't attack him he attacked me . I'm not trying to argue with anyone but when you go on someone's post and make a blank half true statement then insult them and say they need training not having any clue what my background is what can I think other than pompus blowhard . He stated I probably should not be allowed a CCW because I questioned his false naritive , sounds like something Nancy P or Diane F would say . FACT is California doesn't allow CCW they leave it up to local politions to decide . Free states protect citizens from local government infringement .

I never went back and said only some people in CA can get permits (except for prohibited people which is true in any state). The fact is that anyone who is not a prohibited person can get a LTC in CA if they want one. Yes, they may have to live in one of the 44 out of 58 counties that are easier to get a permit in but, if they don't want to live in one of those counties, it's their choice.
Sorry, you're just plain wrong. The FACT is that CA does allow (not guarantee) CCW but, some IAs have a policy of not issuing. That doesn't mean that CA does not ALLOW them to. The FACT is that MANY states leave it up to local LEAs to issue CCWs so, CA isn't alone.
Yes, I will stand behind my statement that anyone who has a severe lack of situational awareness should not be CCWing or even handling firearms. If you disagree, that's your right but, it sure doesn't make it correct or safe for anyone around. Your posts here are all I have to go off, but, no matter what your background or training is, you have demonstrated a severe lack of situational awareness and are upset that I pointed it out to you.
No one is saying that CA has great laws. They are what they are but, you still haven't produced evidence that AR's new policies are any different (yes, every state has different prohibited places and other restrictions) than any other state's (including CA) CCW policies.
I agree that free states protect individual's rights. Unfortunately, your example of AR isn't one of those free states. In fact, AR requires that one pays a pretty hefty sum (in relation to many other states) to obtain a PERMIT which a true free state would not require at all. So, again, your argument is flawed to begin with.Leave a comment:

So here is my question, since you stated that you aren't bashing Ca laws, why post what Ark is doing in a Ca gun forum especially if you don't live in either of those states? Kind of sort of sounds like you are doing exactly what you deny doing trolling.Leave a comment:

I'm not sure there is really much hope for CA in the current political climate as it marches to the far left.
That being said, their is always the idiot in North Korea and the many fault lines that run throughout this state. Any kind of sudden, widespread, debilitating disaster that effectively highlights the states inability to protect its citizens against themselves and attitudes towards self defense and firearms could turn around overnight. Literally.Leave a comment:

Because of people like you and others on here , when I moved to Mo. In 1996 our gun laws were worse than yours are , now we have ccw with no license required and castle . Never give up.

I see your point and agree they allow but as I stated they should go farther and protect your God given rights . Stay vigilant there is hopeThat is where I would disagree. CA law does allow CCWs, but it does not require one to be issued to anyone who asks for one and can pass a background check. That is the difference between SHALL ISSUE and MAY ISSUE. Arguing about it is silly and in the end, both are correct.
Do I like it? Nope Do I think its unconstitutional? YEP! but it is what it is.
