So is pinning a thread protector on a threaded handgun barrel possible (without affecting performance), and if so does that allow it to be legally kept and used on a California handgun?

Well in the case of my HK45 Tactical you can't pin anything to the barrel if you ever intend to field strip it. You have three choices (besides that bad one)- Turn the threads off.
- Install a non threaded barrel and store the threaded one.
- Break the law, perhaps being bad choice #2.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.Comment
