    Threaded pistol barrel

So is pinning a thread protector on a threaded handgun barrel possible (without affecting performance), and if so does that allow it to be legally kept and used on a California handgun?

Anything pinned such that the threads aren't usable and don't provide a mounting solution, should be good to go.

You could also chuck the barrel in a lathe and turn off the threads

True, I've got my money on OP wanting to keep the 'look' of a threaded barrel.

Well in the case of my HK45 Tactical you can't pin anything to the barrel if you ever intend to field strip it. You have three choices (besides that bad one)
          • Turn the threads off.
          • Install a non threaded barrel and store the threaded one.
          • Break the law, perhaps being bad choice #2.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Exactly! Just trying to feed my ego! Haha. But in fact have an opportunity to purchase a suppressor ready pistol but wasn't gonna do it if I had to buy a separate barrel.

Dang! Didn't think about being unable to field strip. Thanks for that tip
