Battery powered lighting for gun safe

One option would be using high temp slicone and applying in and around electrical cord and hole. I'm not sure if a 3/8" hole will really make a difference?Comment

This is what I used as well."No personal computer will ever have gigabytes of RAM" - Scott NuddsComment

I bought this in Feb 2015, less than $8 and it is still working.
Changed battery only once so far, and I open my safe 3 to 4 times week to get my shotguns for trap shooting. Very nice.
I used some sticky velcro and taped inside the safe, it detects motions nicely and comes up with enough light for me to see what I'm doing.
Highly recommended.Comment

I made a mistake - this is what I got (roughly) - what I got is no longer precisely available ...
They recharge from a standard cell phone USB cable and have a motion sense mode, with magnetic backing."No personal computer will ever have gigabytes of RAM" - Scott NuddsComment

Wouldn't the idiot be the name caller who failed to read previous posts to note that there were not ONE but TWO previous posts with recomendations, suggestions, and an answer to a previous posters question on this topic? Please note the related "thank you" in post #27.
can you spell "myopic"?

I bought these from Costco on sale for $10 including the batteries. Remote or just press the lens. 4colors but I only use white. The magnetic mounts are lame so I just Velcro to the walls of the safe.

Battery powered lighting for gun safe
I'm curious - are there fire-proof electrical feedthrus or other ways to route 120V into the safe that won't significantly compromise its fireproofing?
Reason I ask is I'd want a de-humidifier in there as well which can also run off 120V.
Personally I have a rechargeable light and rechargeable de-humidifier in my safe but could see where it'd be nice not to have to think about recharging..Last edited by Svashtar; 01-12-2018, 11:28 PM."Civil Defense Thru Civil Disobedience; Never Disarm!"

You are welcome! Happy to help!
I got the door switch. I had another light system with a motion detector installed in the safe- different brand purchased from Amazon. For some reason the lights would turn ON for no reason. And the problem is I have in safe alarm system /another great Calguns vendor/ that will detect the light and will send a false alarm to my cell for open door. Now with this Maxsafe lights and door switch I have zero problems with false alarms.
The easiest way to install the door switch is to get inside your safe and close the door. This will give you very good idea about the exact location of the door switch!
If you are closing the door on your safe while you are inside, either get a cell phone with you, or make sure you have a trustworthy person aroun to open it if something goes wrong!"Civil Defense Thru Civil Disobedience; Never Disarm!"

I have the maxmysafe kit as posted. Using the AAA battery box and manual on/off switch provided, because when I plugged mine into the power outlet provided inside my gun safe, the lights weren't nearly as bright as it was with just using the batteries.
If you use just the batteries, make sure you buy a spare box that holds the batteries. I think its only a few bucks. After awhile, on mine, the plastic expanded or something and was loose fitting so the batteries quit making contact unless I squeezed it. Very strange, but was cheap and easy to buy the spare parts from them. Haven't had an issue since so not sure why it did it.Last edited by xxINKxx; 01-14-2018, 8:33 AM."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment
