    Here's one I like:

California Firearms Safety Certificates Quizzes. Free online practice tests for California FSC. No registration needed.

Read the guide ( 2 or 3 times if you are new to firearms ) and just take the test. It's not hard, most of it is common sense.

If you fail this test, you have to report to a police counter within 30 days and turn-in any firearms you may have acquired up to that point.

Yea if you read the guide and still fail the test, I think you shouldn't get a firearm.

The questions are literally like "which of the following is the safest direction to point a gun? A)babies head B) Expensive and irreplaceable antique C)Down range at designated target with proper backstop.

Just take the test. If you fail please use the money to take a beginners safety class instead of buying a gun.

I took my fsc test cold with no practice, and got 30/30. With the exception of a couple of questions they are all common sense.

Just go buy a gun and take it there, it's beyond ridiculous.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Ha! I Bought the book read in the car and went back in and took the test.
Just look out for the trick/stupid DMV like questions.

Same here. When they first required the test, the hardest part was paying the state more money for their BS agenda. Passed 30/30 cold and that's not bragging, the test is really that simple.

No practice needed, just know the policy on 1 handgun every 30 days and that it doesnt apply to rifles. Thats probably about the only tricky one if youre not aware of the law

Test is very simple. But that's assuming some level of firearms knowledge or experience. I can easily see some guy off the street who's never touched a gun, failing it.
