If I had to shoot in self-defense, my finger wouldn't know a CGW trigger from an Apex'ed one or a gritty one. Enuff with the trigger snobbery in a self-defense situation, save that for competition

True the trigger snobbery is moot in SD. I just can't be fumbling for Barbie's pistol in said situation.

Without a CCW, Ibsee owning one of those Shields as a meaningless exercise in futility.

All the 'opinions' are funny to read! Its just that - an opinion - everyone has a different style, likeness and comfort on what they like in a handgun.

I get 2~3" at 25 yards with mine. It's my Jeep gun, carry it everywhere.

I carry my shield 40 almost every day, and i have a lot of other subcompacts that i could choose to put on my CCW, HK, Kimber, Springfield EMP, Sig, and a glock 26. I have the Shield, HK p2000sk and the EMP listed on my CCW. But i mostly carry the Shield because it lite, thin and cant really fill that i have it on. I carry IBW, and OBW and nobody ever knows. The other thing is I paid $375 got a $50 gift cert. installed night sights, trigger carry kit, loaded no indicater mod and mag mods for an extra round. Im into the shield for About $550 and it a great pistol now. Being this inexpensive if i drop it, ding it, or just wear it out Im only out $325 bucks. Now if i had a Sig p938 and didn't have to pay DBL the MSRP because of living in Komifornia, that would by my EDC.

I was thinking of getting a shield for CCW, but the IA won't allow any trigger modifications. I am not sure I would want one without, even if I don't expect or want a CCW gun to have a trigger like a range gun.
