No.
state30314.
(a) Commencing January 1, 2018, a resident of this state shall not bring or transport into this state any ammunition that he or she purchased or otherwise obtained from outside of this state unless he or she first has that ammunition delivered to a licensed ammunition vendor for delivery to that resident pursuant to the procedures set forth in Section 30312.
Unless there's something else I don't know about, you can bring back as much of your California purchased ammo as you want. It also means that if one chose to import ammo it would be nearly impossible to prove that it wasn't your left over Ca ammo you left home with.

S if I have a CA CCW and I go to Nevada, when I return I have to return with an empty gun, then stop off at the first gun store and buy enough to charge my magazines? Yeah ok, I'll get right on that.Leave a comment:

Protect themselves from what exactly? Maybe you can show us all where it is not legal for a California resident to purchase ammo out of state? Bringing it into California is the issue, but that is on the buyer not the seller.Leave a comment:

That is news to me. I just mailed some ammo to my son from the UPS store in Carson City a few days ago. It had the ORM-D label on it. The person behind the counter commented that he wished his dad would send him free ammo. We also discussed the BS CA laws. He escaped to freedom a few years ago. He will be sending ammo to his dad behind the iron curtain also.If I can be blunt without it being considered rude: that's not how to ship ammo.
You actually CANNOT walk into any mail service and hand them ammo to ship. Fedex and UPS both require ammo shipments come from a location with an account that receives regular on-site pickup visits (ie: a business).
When I see him in a month or two as I am picking up another ammo shipment, I will let him know that I am not supposed to ship ammo through his store. We will laugh at more CA FUD.
When the Penal Code states these people are exempt, it is not a loophole. A loophole is to find a way to get around a law, like using a bullet button to make a detachable magazine a fixed magazine (before the law changed on that).
Really, if the law as written states something in its plain meaning, it makes no sense to say that is not the intent. If the intent was something else, then it needed to be written to reflect that intent.
So, if you are still too timid, contact your own attorney. You just might be surprised when you hear the words the law as written do not have to make any sort of logical sense or resemble any sort of common sense. They are written by politicians. That should provide enough of an explanation why there is no rhyme or reason to any written law.Leave a comment:

Why?
Alcohol over 151 proof is not legal to sell in California, anything higher (fuels, cosmetics) must be denatured.
You can drive to AZ and buy 190 proof Everclear legally.Leave a comment:

Ammo can be dropped off at a hub:
or through a UPS Customer Center (counters at UPS operational facilities)Leave a comment:

Unless I'm reading the code wrong, it's a misdemeanor not to stop. Sounds like you're rolling the dice. I'll just post a link to the other thread rather than re-type it: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...2&postcount=40Leave a comment:

Drove back to Cali last Thursday, the 4th, from Vegas on the 15 and didn't see anyone getting checked. I forgot all about the new law taking affect and didn't give it a second thought at the time.Leave a comment:

I'm curious what your feelings are about preventing plant diseases, insect pests and plagues from destroying California's multi-billion dollar agricultural industry. not my problem, I don't bring in plants or fruits, I know the law. so I'm not the cause.
Millions of jobs, a big chunk of the State Budget, a large fraction of all the food produced in the US. and that gives the state carte blanche to demand you stop for an illegal search?
Why would you not want to pause for 10 seconds to say, "I have no fruits or vegetables from outside California," and get waved through and be on your way? I'm busy, and prefer not to interface with state drones at their convenience
Do you refuse to cooperate with others standing in line at grocery stores or movie theatre. Just step to the front of the line and demand service in front of those waiting. of course not, that would be rude...
and has no bearing on the subject at hand Maybe you walk into Jamba Juice and walk behind the counter and start making your own smoothy while ignoring the staff that works there? because I would refuse to participate in an illegal search of my vehicle or person,
now I'm a illicit smoothie maker? you aren't making any sense here dude...
Do you refuse to comply with Fascist Nazi customs that require you to use a toilet to void your bodily wastes away from your fellow citizens also? really? I won't stop at an AG station or fill out the AG form on a plane and that has what to do with ****ting in a toilet?!
No need to go to such lengths to be an *ssh*le to the rest of us.
so, by NOT giving up my right to freely travel between states without government intervention... That make people like me an *******?
you wanna bend over and let some state monkey search for a banana in your rectum go for it.
I've got better things to do.

Waved through the I-40 check station @ Needles.
disclaimer,
I'm in an 18-wheeler. They nearly always wave me through without looking at my bill of lading.
