As far as I know California has not banned any ammo. They have changed the rules on buying ammo, but they did not actually ban anything, just made it harder and more burdensome to acquire. Which sucks totally sucks.

Ya know.... You want to buy ammo outside of Cali and there's a slim possibility that your purchase might offend someone and they call in your plate(s).

Get into town, park at Denny's or wherever, call Uber/Lyft/taxi, go to the store, buy ammo, call Uber/Lyft/taxi and get you & ammo brought back to Denny's or wherever. Transfer ammo, drive home.

        Easy-peasy, lemon etc.

I guess you don't hunt in this state and all your ammo has lead in it.

            2 problems with that -
First, you still risk being checked at the border anyway; and if caught, face a felony.
Secondly, if you're going to pay uber 2-ways, you might as well pay the higher price at a local gun shop and buy the ammo in CA.

The whole idea why people buy online or from other states is to get a cheaper deal - with that many hoops, it's not cheap anymore.

Your Uber and Lyft rides leave a record of the the trip. Hail a cab on the street somewhere.

AMAZING...isn't it? And this is how they're gonna STOP gun crime in CA or across the country?!!! Criminals don't buy thousands of round in a bulk, only hobbyists and range shooters do. A criminal can cause devastation with just 20 rounds.

And then there's the black-market for guns (and now ammo). Who is monitoring that and how?

You are under no obligation to consent to any type of search, make them get the warrant

Wrong, first offense is an infraction, second offense is an infraction or a misdemeanor. No one will be checking at the border. The CHP will ignore Wintemutes minions phone calls about ammo purchases in Nevada and Arizona.

True, it is not a ban but it is a useless law pushing towards a ban.
The only use of this new ammo law is to make life more miserable for the law abiding people.

No gangster, criminal, or drive by shooters ever order ammo on line nor are they affected or worried about it.

You could try that, but I don't think you'd get too far with that.
