Weird. I own all my guns, and as has been established by now, I am a liberal. So much for that baseless assumption.

Voting democrat in the state of California and owning guns make you either a hypocrite or intellectually dishonest to the principles of the democratic party and its platform, maybe even a NIMBY on the gun issue,.... but certainly not a true progressive / liberal democrat.

Your votes for democrat lawmakers in Sacramento and LA make you an active enemy of the RTKBA in California and therefore at least, me and probably many others, no matter how "nice" a person you are, you are empowering the people who would "take it all" if they could. And you come here to accomplish what? Seek some kind of absolution for your votes? As I am sure you are aware, you will find no quarter from me on this issue. It is my opinion that gun owners like you are to be shunned and shamed at the range. Your gun ownership is nothing more than FREELOADING on the shoulders of those of us who have been fighting and donating to support the fight for the 2nd Amendment and RTKBA. Liberal gun owners who vote democrat and cant even support the NRA should should never be given any kind of pass at all.. no matter how much military service and how many flags you wrap yourself in.

Kinda wondering how you voted on Prop 47 and 57....Nah.. I am pretty sure I know how you voted.

See, there's the problem. You think that the one and only thing that matters is gun issues. Voting is a far more complex thing than just a single issue, which is apparently what sets liberals and conservatives apart. As I said, you see stark black or white. I see an infinite spectrum of grays. Makes participating in democracy a little more thought intensive than voting based on a single issue, but there it is.

Oh, I come here to enjoy sharing shooting and guns, but all too often come up against ignorance and venom. I seek, nor need, no absolution, especially from people who are unable to get past a single thing as governing their every thought.

BTW, I shared my military service with you to only point again how much more complex the world is than you think. I did not, and do not, wrap myself in the flag. I am proud of my service, and am amused by your inability to do anything except denigrate it.

The problem is that any restrictions on the social issues will ultimately fail the test of time and the progression of society...gay marriage / rights, abortion, civil rights, education etc...

Once the guns are gone, they wont ever be given back and the result is honest law abiding people being turned into criminals. THAT is a significant issue for most of us. Clearly not you. Your view of gun ownership and self defense is clearly.... "casual".

What did your military service have to do with the discussion at hand regarding your votes and support for democrats and the democratic party here in CA and on the national front? NOTHING !!! So why did you even inject it into the conversation? We certainly know that vets can be democrats. Many are.

Your right, perfect example is all the "Multi issue voters" who voted to De- criminalize Marijuana in California and gave up their 2A rights as a result.

                          Lots of thought there.

                            I voted to legalize marijuana
I voted against the gun laws

The real issue is that the Federal government still sees marijuana as an illegal substance. Another oddity where the right does not see "States Rights" as a big deal. Bottom line is in my mind if the law in your state allows it, then you are a legal user. I would love to see the Venn diagram showing the intersection of pot smokers and gun owners.

Bottom line is you are wrong and you effectively voted to allow the state to seize their firearms from millions of Californians.
You should have asked for that Venn Diagram before you voted for a poorly written MJ de-criminalization law.
The problem isn't the Feds, nor the Right.

The problem is people voted for a flawed law without considering consequences.

And now blame others for their ignorance of how laws work.

Perfect example of "Multi Issue" voters not thinking past their own selfish wants.
