I think OP jumped the gun. I don't see why someone with 23 positive feedbacks would suddenly decide to scam someone for $40. Makes no sense. Seller maybe made up an excuse because he delayed shipping for whatever reason. But I don't think he scammed you.

I'd give the guy the benefit of the doubt here. It's only been 8 days since you posted "I'll take it" and he had 100% positive feedback over 23 transactions. I doubt he would go through all the trouble of building up a solid feedback score just to scam someone out of $40.

Now if the item doesn't show up tomorrow, I would demand a copy of the receipt/tracking number. not sure why he is withholding that info, as sharing it would have saved both of you a lot of headache.

ebay does not lock accounts for buying/selling gun parts. There are tens of thousands of gun parts for sale on the site right now. I've bought and sold dozens of gun parts on ebay in the last year. I made 5x what I thought I would get for some vintage collector parts compliments of the auction style bidding process. Access to a national marketplace is better than local or state marketplace for items easily shipped.

They do have specific rules especially about stuff related to "assault weapons" though. from ebay's rules list:

"you can not list - Parts or accessories for assault weapons. Listings that mention capability with an assault weapon, even if the part or accessory fits non-assault weapons, are also prohibited."

Looks like the seller had plenty of positive feedback.Doubt he had to scam you out of $40. Not to mention the was the Thanksgiving holiday in the middle of that time frame. Someone seems a bit impatient to me.

I think a negative itrader here would cost him a lot more than $40 over time. Plus why screw with your own paypal too. Hit him here, I'll never buy or sell to him.

The first time I ever sent payment through PayPal as Gift was for $650 here on Calguns and I was stressing about it. Luckily the seller was Kwikvette and he had a very good reputation and made the whole process smooth.

OP I hope it works out, it happens sometimes some weird or off scenario, hopefully OP was being honest.

Seeing your thread link, I have purchased from him b4. I received my item. Be patient, neutral review in my opinion, I see you already blasted his score.

LOL, tell him to return your $40 or it is off to PayPal help desk for mutually assured destruction of Paypal accounts. But ya, let it play out before doing any of that or getting too upset. Could be he is telling the truth and everything is just going kind of ****ty on his end.

If he talks to the mods he will get it removed of just a delay. As mentioned with holiday going an and all you are being impatient.

Or who knows? Maybe you got fleeced but we shall see. Contact PayPal tell them what transpired and see how that goes for you.

I always want to give benefit of a doubt before I judge and put the hammer down but if this guy really did fleece you for $40 he doesn’t belong on this forum or earth we share.

While I realize everyone has their quirks about PayPal via friends/family ..I can affirm that I have both sent and received upwards of $6K for transactions. Just conduct your due diligence folks, there are good people out there as there are the scums of the wastelands. Be safe this holidays everyone

I'm in the "you're jumping the gun here" camp. 23 positives at 100%, he's not going to ruin that for $40. I have had plenty of people that contact me by phone after my initial PM, I don't see how that is a negative at all. Not everybody wants email notifications on their phone all day.

You should post a poll and take bets on whether he's scamming you or not. I'll give odds against it. LOL.
I hate people that are full of hate.

I got worried myself when I sent double that for a scope on arfcom! Fortunately I've had good luck dealing with honest people both here and there.

Heck, I even made a few friends I've sold to/bought from here.

23 positive reviews over a four year period with no negatives until this transaction? That means he probably has in the 30-35 range.

What happen to patience. I remember waiting several weeks sometimes a month back when eBay first started and that was paying with checks and no pictures most of the time.

Well hope it works out. I wouldn’t have left a negative until I was sure I lost the money.
