Yup I agree, they designed it for lefties, bass ackwards.

maybe they did it to please the DOJ and make it look slower to reload? since it requires the rifle to be in a awkward position to hand load each round.

If I had not already bought the other crap, BF10, MA mag loader, Franklin fixed mag and AR mag lock for my guns, I would go for it, but I am not spending any more money on my AR15's. Not gonna do it. I think this one is the best option for the occasional shooter.

Why do people think this thing is designed for lefties. This is definitely a right handed design.
When reloading, I would hold the rifle, at an angle, with the pistol grip in my right hand. Then take my left hand and lock the spring down, then take my left hand to open the loading door, then take my left hand and load the ammo. With the loading door on the right side, you would have to grab the rifle by the barrel shroud/hand guard like you did with a bullet button. With the loading door on the left, loading hand is left like if you had a standard mag release.

In theory this could work with many STANAG magazine rifles. Once the AK version is out that also opens up many possibilities.

Until you're ready to abandon ship, it's the only real option to maintain full functionality (funky mags and opening the gun to get mags out are just dumb) when the option exists to just push a button and have the mag drop.

These things are about as ergonomic as it gets, short of the actual grip the gun comes with.

And get rid of the flash hider and install a muzzle brake. And lose the forward vertical grip. Cause none of that does anything if you're wasting time opening your gun every time you change magazines.

Making mag changes more difficult, and limiting yourself to 10 round mags (when you have greater than 10 round mags bought before 2000) seems more like neutering than keeping all functionality in place by substituting an ugly grip for the original.

I say limiting yourself to 10 rounds because with a non-detachable magazine you cannot legally use mags with capacity greater than 10 rounds.

But your money, your gun, do what you want with it.
