    new members welcome/unwelcome?

Ive seen this time and time again. A new, most likely new to firearms person will post and make incorrect names for items IE, clip, (Mag) pistol, revolver, wrong forum etc.

We all as united pro gun owners need to welcome these new pro-recruits rather than lambaste them. I'm becoming very disappointed in some of the Calgun posters sitting on the edge of their seats hoping for a simple mistake!!!

Any new Calgunner should be politely redirected them as we need every pro California 2nd amendment voter we can get...

Be courteous, be helpful, welcome them with advice, look at the post count at least.

    Just my .2 cents

X2 I agree some people are the only ones in their group of friends, family, or work associates who are in to guns. This may be the only place they can go for information and to ask advice. People act like they have never been "new". It comes down to respect. I know im new to this forum but I have been around a while and have seen this in many places unfortunately.

I truly believe calguns has run it's course. Back in 2011 some portions of the site were useful.

But 95% of the nonsense posted here is wrong, bad legal advice, fud, bragging or 40 year old gun store hangarounds posting online.

There are plenty of other resources around and this site has too little useful information to deal with all the bull****.

Like YouTube bow has a start to finish ar-15 tutorial and laws over view in a 2 hour playlist.....we didn't have that back in the day and we had to sift through **** like this

The other thing I really hate is the "this has been discussed before. Use the search function." The search function here sucks. Help someone out by answering their question or sending them the link to the other thread.

I could be wrong, but I feel like there is less posting on calguns recently. I've seen this same thing happen before with other hobby forums I've been involved in. I'm sure the dwindling number of guns on the roster doesn't help with this, as it gives us less to talk about. But I also think rude responses drives people away.

As long as we're coddling newbies, let's not disrespect those whose responses reflect their feelings and their unique ways of expressing themselves...
Screw it. I'm rolling up my newspaper and bashing the Glocktards right on the nose...
Whoops. I see the error of my ways...Peace Love and all that stuff!

I agree with OP. When I was a new CG'r, I remember being dreadfully hurt when I asked advice about my thing that goes up.

I agree ,and for what it's worth revolvers were pistols for more than a century before semi auto "pistols " were designed

As long as they understand Cal Guns is a place to either complain about living here or brag about leaving here they will be just fine.
