I'm thinking that's a big part of the reason. Factories no longer need to run 3 shifts.
At least not until the next democrat gets elected.

We are only one bad news report away from the next panic.

Plus, don't forget, the buying frenzy for every fed, state, county, etc., agency, that was buying up huge amounts of ammo has ended. Until this was revealed a few years ago, I didn't realize how many gov't agency's have a security force.

Looks like no one mentioned it but Northrop Grumman acquired Orbital (Parent company of Vista Outdoors which is parent company of federal ammunition) last month, so it's most likely due to cost cutting and restructuring. This is typical after acquisitions.

Vista Outdoors (VSTO) is a separate company from Orbital ATK (OA). At one point they were related but not anymore. Northrup Grumman's planned purchase of OA has nothing to do with VSTO's operations.

Ahh yes, you are correct. Vista is independent after spinoff

I truly empathize with those in the firearms/munitions industries that have lost their jobs as a result of the "Trump slump", but I also believe that we're all better off than if Hillary were running this country. Her anti 2A policies and executive actions would have likely had a far worse effect on the continued livelihood of workers in these industries, as well as the 2nd amendment.

If they brought back .22lr 500 rd bricks for $9.99 again, they would sell enough ammo to keep all the employees and probably need to hire more.

Sorry Federal, but my floor can simply not support anymore ammo.
