It's easy. Put the upper receiver in an armorers block and put it in a vise. Slip the crush washer over the barrel first. Put some anti seize grease on the threads. Then hand tighten your comp/hider on. Tighten it with you armorers wrench until it is in the position you want it.Last edited by ARDude; 10-09-2017, 5:45 PM.Comment

pretty much this.
if you can take it off, you can put it back on.
and yes, the anti-seize is important if you ever want to take it off down the line without needing the hulk or potentially breaking something.Originally posted by leelawBecause -ohmigosh- they can add their opinions, too?Originally posted by SoCalSig1911Preppers canceled my order this afternoon because I called them a disgrace... Just don't use it for barrel nuts.
I have been getting a lot more barrels in lately with broken index pins from people that tried to tighten a barrel nut to their receiver with the receiver/barrel on a bev block or giessele reaction rod.Randall Rausch

Are they shimmed breaks like the surefire?Comment

I used a 12" long, 3/4" Snap-On combination wrench. I laid my AR in my lap, held it with my left hand and removed the old brakes with my right hand. It's easy.
