Gunbroker "sold items"

Maybe I am missing it but I can't find a way to view "Sold Items" on Gunbroker website. Is there a way to view sold items. I want to get an idea of the true value of a few of my handguns...Thanks!

The sold items don't last in their system very long. About 5 years ago the sold items would be in the system if you have your account set up right. If you have it as a watched item it was kept in the system for a while.

Once you're logged in, click on "advanced" just to the right of the search bar. Once you're in "advanced search", click on "completed items". Narrow your search from there.

For some reason the app doesn't seem to have a way to search completed items like the website does

• Enter your search words.
  
• After "Show Only" select "Ended within last 90 days"
  
• After "Sort By" select "Highest Number of Bids First". That will put the auctions that actually got bids at the top of the list so you won't waste time on auctions that didn't get any bids.
  
• Click Search.

It does show completed auctions but does not show actual "sold" items as eBay does. I want to get an estimate on what my Colt is worth. Since they are only worth what someone will pay..I only need to see what someone has "paid". Not what they thought they could get...

After you've done your search and it brings up a list of completed auctions you need to click on the auction. Once you get to the auction you will see the results of the auction. It will show if the item sold and what it sold for. If the item didn't sell you will see that as well as what the highest bid was.

You can get meaningful results without having to look at the auctions. When you're in advanced search, under "item qualifiers" click on "No reserve." Then under "sort by" click on "highest number of bids first." From there, everything that shows at least one bid in the results will be SOLD.

The top bids give you exactly that information. If the item got bids - which is why you sort by "Highest number of bids first" - the top bids tell you what "the market" says that gun is worth, whether it sold or not.

Some sellers set too high a reserve. Say they set a reserve of $1000. They auction it and the bidding tops out at $850. It doesn't reach the reserve of $1000 so it doesn't sell. The seller relists the item and the bidding tops out at $840. It doesn't reach the reserve so it doesn't sell. The seller relists the item again and the bidding tops out at $850. It doesn't reach the reserve so it doesn't sell. The seller relists the item again and the bidding tops out at $860. It doesn't reach the reserve so it doesn't sell. The seller relists the item again and the bidding tops out at $850. It doesn't reach the reserve so the seller relists it again. And so on and so on.

Well, the gun didn't sell, but "the market" made it pretty clear that that particular gun is worth around $850.
