    Endangered AR?

It wouldn't surprise me that California's mentally ill leaders will use Las Vegas' tragedy to further tighten the grip around the AR's neck.

Do you guys think it's a valid threat?
    Better buy your AR now?

It would not surprise me if they actually find a way to confiscate semi-automatic rifles.

The only possible next step is to ban all semi-automatic rifles regardless of features. They might go for it, but that's a categorical ban that would be exactly the same as the ban on handguns that gave us Heller.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to push a bit further, though.

They will only ban semi automatic rifles capable of holding more than one round ...

I'm sure when Gavin Newsom gets into office everything is on the table.

Let them try. Outside of a nullification of the 2nd amendment and a door to door search (which would miss many of them) there is nothing they can do.

Excremento has reached the limit of the law, perhaps reached too far as court cases are being litigated. The Gav was on TV bragging about California's gun laws and how they should be the model for the rest of the nation. Unfortunately for the Gav, the rest of the country won't play that game.

After all the hand wringing is done, expect zero change on the national level.

not so sure they have reached the limit yet. While it might be nice to fantasize they have reached the limit, I doubt they have and even if they have, they will try anyway.

I don't own a AR and likely never will, just no interest. But I was looking at another lever action rifle and I don't own a 1911 and was thinking I needed one for my 60th bday in a month. With the shooting, I can see even more restrictions coming, maybe FOR ME (maybe not for you) its time to quit buying guns until I move out of state, I would not want them taken away and we all know the Calif. politicians want to try and take them.

I am sure they will give it a try. Vegas is the vehicle they will use to drive it towards the finish line.

It gets old having a firearm or ammo purchase being determined by pending legislation.

I hope so. But just remembering the 1994 AWB. The states could do nothing about it.

I hope California leadership treads lightly.

I will say if these folks try to push harsher laws or bans AR15s and Ak47s the people of California will slowly start to just give up on following rules in California and will simply use discretion and not use public ranges. Law abiding citizens will remove bullet buttons, bring back their 60 round Surefire mags and just do what they want. A lot of folks do that now. That's reality. I am not condoning illegal activity but we see it all over California and remember criminals and felons can get anything, even if they ban these black guns in California. The cartels from Mexico will continue to sell these types of weapons to gangs in the US and other out of state felons or gang members will continue to sell to felons and gangs in California. This is known and will continue indefinitely. That's a fact.

I can say that there are millions of unregistered AR15s and Ak47s in California with 30-60 round magazines, no bullet button/mag release and have OAL or 26 inches or more, meaning they don't give a **** about the 30 inches OAL rule California has in place. This is 100% fact even though we all know it's illegal in California.

So we know what California leaders are probably going to do so plan accordingly and if you can move out of state, do it.

I'm just trying to figure out how to keep the one I have.
If I register, it will be Newsom's in about a year. If I go featureless, it will be deemed illegal and be confiscated within two.
