Springfield makes a better 1911.
Sent from my LG-H910 using TapatalkOppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison
The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms. -- Samuel Adams, Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 86-87 (Pearce and Hale, eds., Boston, 1850) -
Neither, save a few more pennies and get a Les Baer or Dan Wesson.**** your feelings!Comment

I won't be dumping any Springfield Armory INC., Geneseo, IL guns that I previously purchased (I think the last being more than 8 years ago) but I'm sure not pining to buy anything new from them.
They do seem like they are trying to correct their position, but one has to wonder if that was merely because they realized it would hurt sales of their brand rather than a genuine, seeing the light coming to religion revelation.
On May 1, 2017, Springfield Armory, Inc. published a press-release attempting to explain their trade association's support of Illinois Senate Bill 1657, which would implement significant new gun control measures in Illinois., the bill also would hurt local gun shops and limit the ability of the people of Illinois to only buy guns from big box stores.
The following day, May 2, Springfield CEO Dennis Reese released a statement announcing the "decision to sever all ties with the [Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association], effective immediately."
Reese also accepted "full responsibility for [his] failure of oversight" regarding actions taken by the IFMA to withdraw opposition of SB1657 and provide paid support of known anti-gun Illinois state senators

Love my Kimber, but one thing to consider is the fact that it has a Swartz Firing pin safety. Many people don't like that, or any series 80 type 1911. The springer is a series 70, so no safety.
I would look for a used Dan Wesson though if I could afford over the other two choices.Comment

Plus 1 for the Dan Wesson.I won't be dumping any Springfield Armory INC., Geneseo, IL guns that I previously purchased (I think the last being more than 8 years ago) but I'm sure not pining to buy anything new from them.

I love my Springfield mil-spec. It is relatively speaking the most accurate and solid gun I own.
I highly suggest the mil-spec. Rock armory 1911 are total garbage, all you have to do is pick one up and you can feel it's off.
Go with a milspecComment
