Now you know why they use dark carpets in there. It hides the stains.

Embarrassed to admit, but my initial thought was what a mother$!*#r. My wife and I go to this range often and with this crap that's likely to change and she won't wanna go when she learns about it, (karma, ghosts, etc). This @$$wipe and his action has likely taken this activity away from my wife and I and that pisses me off.

Sorry... I know it isn't compassionate but it's how I feel.
The truth usually isn't compassionate. And these selfish idiots are why I stopped taking children to the range. I wouldn't want a 12-year-old to witness something I wouldn't want to witness as a 65 year old.

He is a strong person but its something he can't get out of his head. Its driving me crazy because I know that memory will be really hard for him to forget. It makes me mad that whoever that guy was really affected some people. As well as the OC indoor gun range. I'm sure it will affect their business for awhile. My prayers go out to all those who were there. As well as the man who killed him self and his family. I hope that people start becoming more aware of mental illnesses. I just feel how the man went about it was selfish and cowardly. It makes me really angry. I dont know what was going through his mind though. Sorry guys I just had to vent somewhere.

Blue~ make sure your BF talks this out with someone, yourself or family. Seeing something like this first hand, especially if he had to administer any assistance can stick with someone for a long while.

Sorry to hear your boyfriend ( and the staff) had to witness this Blueangl837. (bye the way, welcome to the board) These kind of cowardice acts do put our sport in danger. OC range is a well run business and I really hope it doesn't suffer from the acts of this idiot. I don't know why people that want to check out don't just run a hose from the exaust pipe, start the car and listen to music till they nod off.

Much too private - would never satisfy attention whores who enjoy making other suffer because they are suffering.
              For many, misery loves company.
Then there are the sympathy whores "Everybody look at me & pity me...this proves I deserve pity." (For them, the larger the audience, the better).

Thanks, i guess its a crazy way to join though. I know this sounds awful but I was thinking the same thing I thought what he did was definetly cowardly and selfish. I'm surprised I havent read any articles about this. It's definitely a good thing for the gun range.

Thanks calico. That's good advice. I'm just walking on egg shells right now. Don't want to piss him off. I just have to work it in somewhere.

Looks to be like a motorcycle chain... it's too short to get a full 180 twist.

They have other methods using cables and pulleys that ensure the muzzle is always pointed downrange that I've seen in pictures from Australia.

I'm a retired LEO. I'm not a professional shrink, but I have one small piece of advice. Your boyfriend should talk to a medical psych professional about what happened. Stress is like holding a beer bottle straight out. At first it seems easy, but give it a few minutes and it WILL become very difficult. Many medical plans will cover such a visit. You should go with him too. The first 72 hours after an incident is the best time to go.

Not necessarily within the first 72 hours, but in a few months. There's some research that indicates that reliving the experience too soon can make the trauma more difficult to cope with. (If anyone is interested, I'll go find the actual research paper). But certainly seeking help is advised and doesn't mean he's weak in any way.
