      here are a couple I found while researching this on older forums. Please feel free to read some of his older posts and then make up you own mind.

      Here is a sample;
      I am a no-compramise kind of guy, and that's a personal catch, not a business one. Now and then, people have me restore or upgrade firearms for them. I have a common saying I use and mean when I deal with them: "I won't give you a gun I wouldn't trust with my life without telling you otherwise, and won't call the project finished until I would trust it with my life".
      A gun that does not need improvment typically doesn't come my way unless I go out and look for it. The Kel Tec SU-16 is being sent my way because it DOES have it's problems and features people don't like. My job is to correct them and turn it in to a gun people do like.
      Perhapse it's no cuincodince that the 2 things the guy who is sending it my way mentioned need for improvment was a stock replacment and a bull barrel.

      As for your AR, bring it by, i'll take a look at what you have going, make suggestions and I may be able to help you with parts of it. I make handgun grips and rifle stocks professionally, so coming up with the furnature you like at professional quality standards will be a quick and easy operation which I may volinteer just for the fun of it.

      As for the innerds of your AR, my suggestion would be a pin-release mechanism. You would have to modify the bolt and/or bolt carrier but you could still use all the same features.
      Pin release mechanisms are those that catch the firing pin when the action goes back and release it when the trigger is pulled.
      Receiver is pretty much the same as the regulear AR-15 receiver exept it doesn't have the rear hammer slot.
      This is the same receiver that my .22 Magnum desdign will use and was OK'd by the attourney generals office.
      I don't know the AR-15 well enough, but my guess is you could probably make a pin release system by making a firing pin with a "drop on it, cut a slot in the bolt carrier for it to fit under, put a spring behind it ( or part of it ) and pin it in to the bolt carrier.

          I am glad you got something out of that mess, I reread it 3 times and could not make hide nor hair. I could not find his balsa wood XM8 monstrosity with the visible drywall screws holding it together.
