That is just cold blooded. If it was a suicide...what a scumbag. Want to off yourself? Do it in private where you don't hurt a hard working business or traumatize innocent bystanders.
I can't stand these people who kill themselves in such public ways. Last time this happened, i was stuck in 1 hour traffic because some idiot was making a huge show of whether he wanted to jump or not.
When a man has had enough pain (rightly or wrongly) and decides to put a gun to his own head, the last thing that he is concerned with is the traffic jam or who mops the floor afterwards.
You can scorn him when you see him in Valhalla. !
RIP, and prayers for his family.Comment

You're missing the point. The post isn't about suicide in general. It's about making others suffer because you're suffering - by forcing them to witness something terrible and damaging a business. It is selfish as well as attention whoring. That is just cold blooded.

It's terribly sad to read news like this - and it's frustrating to read some of the comments here. While it's easy for us bystanders to say this individual was selfish or any other number of adjectives, the truth is things like mental illness, depression, etc are far too real to be taken lightly - when someone is in that state of mind, they often cannot find any other alternatives that seem awfully reasonable to us - as we aren't in his shoes.
I realize what this young man, Maurice, did was awful, especially in the presence of others, but shouldn't we at least show an ounce of respect?
Truth is, we don't know his circumstance and it's best to reserve judgement in these situations. He may have lost his humanity, but we can choose to keep ours and do what we can to prevent others from seeing this as an option when things look bleak.

No, I don't think we should give anyone who commits suicide at a gun range or any other business an ounce of respect. Anyone who commits suicide at a gun range is selfish period. Instead of acting like a snowflake and trying to feel sorry for a SELFISH CRIMINAL, you need to feel sorry for all those affected by his SELFISH actions. Have you ever had to personally clean up after a suicide at a range? Have you ever had to witness one? Have you ever had to shut your business down and loos revenue due to someone's criminal actions? Do you live with the memories of watching someone shoot him/her self at a public range? Do you live with the memories of having to clean it up? If you don't, you're opinion doesn't matter much in my book. Sorry, I call them like I see them. BTW, YES, I have worked at an indoor range that rented guns and have had to deal with SELFISH CRIMINALS, their actions and the aftermath on more than one occasion. I feel sorry for the 9 year old girl who watch a stranger take his own life in a violent and graphic way but, I don't have an once of compassion for the idiot who took his life in front of her nor do I care what his excuse was or the condition of his mental health when he did it. Pedophiles have mental health problems too, do you think they deserve an ounce of respect after committing a violent crime? What would their victims think of you if you ask that they be respected? It's no different in cases of suicide at a public range. It's terribly sad to read news like this - and it's frustrating to read some of the comments here. Couldn't have said it better. Compassion may feel warm & fuzzy, but it's not always appropriate. Certainly not in this case where some selfish fool chooses to spread his misery around. No, I don't think we should give anyone who commits suicide at a gun range or any other business an ounce of respect.
