How sad the city is allowed to rip people off, guy turns in 32 hunting rifles which could probably fetch $300 each, doubt they paid him $9,000.

Need a law that city's have to resell them, that would generate money for art for this gangsters mom.

I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth. I was asking a question about WTF happens when a gun is handed in "no questions asked". Do they even check the ballistics and record a licence plate just in case it's been used in a crime or is the gun destroyed without checking? If the latter...

Okay. It didn't read as a question of what happens when. But yes, if it's a no questions asked buyback, then no questions are asked. Hence being called a no-questions-asked-buyback.

The city didn't make a fake claim, they didn't low ball, they didn't deceive the gun "sellers" thus they are not ripping anyone off. Two things dictate the worth of any item on the market.
First is what someone is willing to pay for it (In this case, $100 gift card to target).
Second is what someone is willing to let it go fir (also $100 gift card in this example)
So in this instance, the gun is "only" worth $100.

If they really wanted top market dollars, they'd sell it on the real market.
